Melara is a former guard of the Winter City and a subordinate of Jael'yn whose fate was unknown after the guard was purged of those still loyal to Alissa following Etheryn's appointment as regent. If the Champion prevented Gytha's return to Alissa during the events of The Demon of Ice, Melara makes her appearance as the demonic gatekeeper that attempts to stop the Champion from entering Dracia Keep. If Gytha's return was not prevented, Melara's fate will remain unknown.
The Champion has the option of executing the demon, leaving her be, or capturing her to place her at the Wayfort Dungeon.

Appearance
You glance skyward just in time to see someone leaping down towards you, spreading her wings to slow her descent. She lands on the stairs between you and the keep, leveling a winged spear at your party.
Flaming red hair spills down from beneath her helm and over her crimson scale armor. Fiendish gold eyes stare menacingly at you, drinking in you and your party each in turn.
Interactions
First Encounter
Melara's appearance as the Demon Dragoon is entirely dependent on whether or not the Champion was able to prevent Gytha from returning to Alissa's side during the events of The Demon of Ice. If Gytha's return was prevented, as the Champion nears Dracia Keep, Melara descends from a balcony and raises her winged spear to fight them.
If the Champion is defeated, Melara will have her way with them before bringing them to Alissa. If the Champion is victorious against Melara, Daliza comments on who Melara is, and the following options will become available:

Wayfort Dungeon
If the Champion had hogtied Melara, she can be found at the Wayfort's Dungeon in her cell, watching the Champion in quiet anticipation.
As of version 0.6.30, she cannot be interacted with yet.
