When you reach the higher points of Tainted, Corruption shifts your personality type to [[Personality#Dark Knight|Dark Knight]], which impacts your PC's dialogue. Writers can also use Corruption to gate choices or special reactions, of course.

Corruption also makes you more vulnerable to demonic influence. The higher your score, the more easily demon-type enemies can use their special abilities on you. However, it also improves demonic abilities you master and use. Further, having a Corruption above Pure will cause your Libido to grow faster: any time you gain a +Libido event, Libido increases by an additional +1 per category above Pure.

Speaking of demonic abilities: PCs at 100 Corruption (Demonic) will actually be susceptible to becoming demons. This is a Game Over event ([[Bad Ends]]), in which the PC cums their soul out (as a lethicite crystal) and then does whatever that bad end entails. This particular event should only happen in bad ends caused by demons or other highly corruptive sources.

While Corruption is at 100, the PC is in what is called the "demonic danger zone" until the PC returns back to 99 Corruption or lower. While Demonic, writers are free (but not required) to write bad ends during sexual encounters with corrupt beings in which the oversexed former Champion cums her soul out and becomes a demon on the spot. Corruption in the world of Savarra is less of a physical aspect and more the corruption of the soul. Demons strip off everything good and compassionate and empathetic in a person, leaving nothing but a hedonistic husk that's obsessed with its own selfish pleasure. Addiction, sexual self-gratification, and domination without compassion. Demons are a force of moral destruction.

Corruption is the darker side of Libido. While Libido represents your sex drive and sexual stamina, Corruption is your sexual empathy, your shamelessness, and hedonism. It's a measure of your descent into the sexual madness of the demons, obsessed only with your own self-gratification.

The most direct way to gain Corruption is to partake of demonic fluids: that's a big +Corruption right there. You can also lose Corruption by Meditation and by various acts of kindness and purity. Helping your friends and self-sacrifice are a good way to restore your character's empathic tendencies.

Generally speaking, there will be more ways to gain corruption than to lose it.

When you reach the higher points of Tainted, Corruption shifts your personality type to [[Personality#Dark Knight|Dark Knight]], which impacts your PC's dialogue. Writers can also use Corruption to gate choices or special reactions, of course.

Corruption also makes you more vulnerable to demonic influence. The higher your score, the more easily demon-type enemies can use their special abilities on you. However, it also improves demonic abilities you master and use. Further, having a Corruption above Pure will cause your Libido to grow faster: any time you gain a +Libido event, Libido increases by an additional +1 per category above Pure.

Speaking of demonic abilities: PCs at 100 Corruption (Demonic) will actually be susceptible to becoming demons. This is a Game Over event ([[Bad Ends]]), in which the PC cums their soul out (as a lethicite crystal) and then does whatever that bad end entails. This particular event should only happen in bad ends caused by demons or other highly corruptive sources.

While Corruption is at 100, the PC is in what is called the "demonic danger zone" until the PC returns back to 99 Corruption or lower. While Demonic, writers are free (but not required) to write bad ends during sexual encounters with corrupt beings in which the oversexed former Champion cums her soul out and becomes a demon on the spot. What might be a normal blowbang from a gang of incubi that gives a bunch of Corruption to a normal PC has the potential to cause a near-Demonic PC to cross the line and jizz out her soul. Fucking Kasyrra or any other archdemon is a real and present danger to your soul when you're already at the edge.

In order to get off the "danger zone" players need to incite an event that grants -5 Corruption or more at once (a fairly rare thing), which will push them down to 99 again. You're never "hard locked" into demonhood, but the further down the corruption path you go, the more difficult it will be to come back to the light.

The Champion will first meet Shar outside an old Belharan tower at the north east of the [[Foothills]]. She's in a bit of trouble, she wants to enter the tower but is unable to open the tower's gate. Due to the unusual size of her wings, Shar is unable to fly such that her sisters told her that there is wizard in the old tower that can help her become more normal. She will introduce herself and ask if the Champion can help her open the gate to the tower. The Champion may decide to help her or refuse, refusing to help Shar will NOT lock future interactions with her and the Champion may decide to help her again at anytime. Whether the Champion decides to help her or not will start the [[Ugly Duckling]] questline.

When the Champion has decided to help Shar, they will be first tasked with dealing with the tower's gate. Each of the five different [[:Category:Classes|classes]] will have their own special way of dealing with the gate. Once the gate has been dealt with, Shar will compliment the Champion on their ability and will request the Champion's company in exploring the tower because its spooky. Inside the tower, Shar will temporarily join the Champion's party (however she cannot be manually controlled), they will come across an [[Arcane Golem]] that had been guarding the tower all this time. If the Champion is defeated by the golem, it will result in Shar's unfortunate death . When the Champion has defeated the golem and the party has gotten their bearings they will proceed to the top of the tower where the wizard's chambers lay. The party arrive at the chambers to not only find it abandoned but also that a skeleton, presumably the wizard, lays upon the bed in a tattered night robe. Despite the objective of the adventure to find the wizard has failed, Shar will decide to take residence in the old tower having been motivated by the Champion's words of not being on the ground due to the height of the tower. After burying the wizard and the golem, Shar can now be encountered anytime at the old watchtower.

On the contrary to groping Shar, fluffing the flightless harpy will result in a restoration of 20 resolve, though it will not add or reduce any of the scales.

Play fighting with Shar will result in the Champion teaching her how to use a weapon to defend herself. The Champion may bring Shar another [[Ovilixer]] that will increase/decrease the time it will take for her to lay an egg. There are three stages in which the Champion may introduce an ovilixer and get a corresponding scene for it (Shar's pregnancy birth timer is <33%, <66% and >=66%). When giving Shar the Ovilixer, there will exist scene variations for each of the pregnancy stages and using said ovilixer that involve her alignment scale. The scenes will check if Shar's courage is higher than her perversion. Each time Shar is given an Ovilixer, it will raise her hip and butt rating by 1 to a maximum of 20.

If the Champion has completed [[Getting Into The Closet]], Shar will appear as a helper of the cloister in the [[Chapel of Velun]]. It seems that as soon as the Champion brought back the relic, she was drawn to it and snuck into Hawkethorne to get to the relic. [[Brother Sanders]] had vouched for her, sensing no ill intent from her and she's become a welcome visitor to the village despite being a harpy. She has become a regular face around the chapel and is being taught by Sanders how to cook, she also listens to his prayers and daydreams in the pews right in front of Sorra. When Shar is among the relics of Sorra, she feels safe and at peace. Although she helps out during the day, she still returns home to the old watchtower at night.

When giving Shar the Ovilixer, there will exist scene variations for each of the pregnancy stages and using said ovilixer that involve her alignment scale. The scenes will check if Shar's courage is higher than her perversion. Each time Shar is given an Ovilixer, it will raise her hip and butt rating by 1 to a maximum of 20.

If the Champion has completed [[Getting Into The Closet]], Shar will appear as a helper of the cloister in the [[Chapel of Velun]]. Should the Champion have the acolyte or scholar background, they will be able to partially understand that the strange gestures from River are handsigns that have a relation to Mallach, but not be able to understand the message behind the handsigns. Whatever message River relayed to Cait, it was of negative outcome. When asked about it, she will wave it off as some old temple stuff.

Should the Champion inform Garret of the upcoming adventure, he will travel with River to the gate and wait for the Champion there.

Once the Champion has met with River and Garret, if he was brought along, near the chasm he will proceed to unlock a winch that will open the gates of the old fort. He will ask the Champion for a bit of muscle to help operate the winch, noting it wasn't stuck the last time he was there. Before the Champion enters the fort he will give a word of caution to the Champion, ''If you feel you're overwhelmed, don't hesitate to beat a quick retreat. Better to come out with your life, than to die trying.''

Should the Champion be defeated by the roaming [[Ghosts]], the Champion will wake to find themselves outside the gates of Fort Marrok. River was able to venture into the fort and drag out the Champion and their party. ''Music soothes the bestial soul — and that holds true even when said souls are supposed to have passed on. All it took was one good saga by the Iron Poet, and they were too busy listening to me to do anything else.''

Should the Champion decide to call it quits and leave the fort, River will not blame them for their decision and they will return to the Frost Hound.

Should the Champion defeat the Jarl in combat, River will remark that he was half-considering heading inside and checking on the party. He will then inspect the medallion and give it a good sniff, confirming it does smell like Gunvaldsen. He will then suggest that the party head back before he expires from starvation and on the trip back, he wants to hear the whole story.

If the Champion had successfully parleyed with [[Jarl Gunvaldsen]] without Garret around and having witnessed the passing of the Jarl and his spectral soldiers into the great beyond, he will be ecstatic from the event he just witnessed. River will inspect the medallion, giving it a long sniff and pressing his fingers along the heavy surface. He will confirm that it is indeed the very medallion Garth wanted and will ask the Champion to tell him everything that happened in the fort on the way back.

If the Champion had successfully parleyed with the Jarl with Garret around, he will come to inspect the medallion from Garret. He will confirm that it is indeed the very medallion Garth wanted but Garret will inform him that it wasn't necessary. Garret will comment that he knows why his father wanted the medallion and that he learned more from the adventure then he could ever learn from the medallion itself. He will practically drag River with him as he needs his help to concoct a believable alibi for why he was gone.
