To trigger the conversation that begins this quest, you need to have had [[Arona]] in your party for a ghost encounter - [[Shades of the Past]], [[Specter of the Wyld]], or the [[Spectral Smith]] encounter in the [[Glacial Rift]]. Before too long, Arona will interrupt your sleep to insist you find a way for her to fight ghosts.

You continue the quest by visiting [[Viviane]], who marks a spot in the [[Old Forest]]. If you wait at the spot you will encounter a [[Dire Wolf Spirit]] that you need to defeat. Losing causes a bad end.

After slaying the spirit, you return to Viviane to collect [[Arona]]'s upgrade.
