Undermountain Hobgoblins
"Highway toll," one of them declares, stretching out a hand towards you expectantly. "Three hundred, take it or leave it — we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way."
The Undermountain Hobgoblins are groups of hobgoblins in the slums of the Undermountain. With the demonic incursion, the Minotaurs have largely withdrawn into the walls of Khor'minos, leaving the other residents of the Deeplands to fend for themselves. Imps are roaming the caves and slumlords are price-gouging them on essential goods. To try and feed themselves, the Undermountain Hobgoblins you encounter have resorted to petty banditry. They have a particular resentment towards minotaurs, including Brint or Brienne if they're in your party.

Appearance
Rousing themselves from crude sleeping bags, a handful of ragtag creatures come tromping up to you, crude but nasty-looking bludgeons and shanks in their hands.
These guys clearly mean business — dressed in well-patched leather and cloth vests and leggings, they remind you of a cross between goblins and orcs. The goblin traits are unmistakable — the tapered ears, the body proportions, the way they carry themselves — but they're all far too tall and well-muscled to be your stereotypical goblin. That's not to count the tusks, bovine horns and orange-brown skins, all of which are very definitely un-goblin-like.

"Demons or not, the king's turning a blind eye to what the gangs are doing, using the quarantine as an excuse to kill us useless eaters by the cartload. Bastard probably thinks his glorious kingdom would be cleaner without us, so screw him and his harem of cows. Demons? I might die from demons, I will die from starvation. Those are odds I'm willing to take."
As you're exploring the Undermountain, if you have an appropriate background or high enough cunning you'll notice the shadows are just a bit too dark. The next moment, you're surrounded by scruffy looking figures wielding crude yet nasty looking improvised weapons. If Brint or Brienne are in the party they recognise them as Hobgoblins, though the ones that would be hired as farmhands were better fed and better dressed. The hobgoblins explain that with the quarantine inside the city, everyone out in the slums has been left to dodge demons and try to feed themselves. And, well, they'd really like to be able to feed themselves, and you have such nice weapons and armour...
- Pay: Know what, you can spare 300 EC for those in need. (requires 300 EC)
- No: Yeah no, fuck this. You're not rewarding banditry regardless of the sob story of an excuse they've come up with.
If you Pay the hobgoblins, they thank you, and reassure you that banditry isn't their main gig. There's not enough people travelling through the Undermountain for that to be viable anyway. If present, Brint or Brienne shake their heads at your soft-heartedness — banditry in punishable by execution in Khor'minos, and you're just encouraging them by rewarding them for it. The hobgoblins let you pass without further incident, however.
If you choose No, you end up in battle against a group of eight Hobgoblin Thieves and Thugs. If you're victorious, Brint or Brienne if present notes there isn't anything you can do with them. As overtaxed as the city is, they won't appreciate you bringing in random thieves to put out of their misery. If you're defeated, the hobgoblins rummage through your possessions, taking some credits as well as any food they can find. They tell you to just pay next time, and decide to drive the point home with an involuntary gangbang.
Subsequent Encounters
Future encounters with the hobgoblins go the same way, with the ragged thieves demanding 300 EC in payment to let you pass. You can choose to pay the 'Highway toll' or refuse, with the same results as before.
Sex
If you defeat the hobgoblins, you can drive your victory home by having your way with some of them.

If you are defeated by the hobgoblins, they'll look to do the same. If your Minotaur companion is present, they'll decide to take their aggression out on them. Otherwise, one of the other gangbangs will randomly proc.
