Description

A gang of Black Void pirates.

Appearance

A gang of unruly, vicious-looking space toughs, these Black Void pirates are armed to the teeth with machine-pistols, rifles, shotguns, and everything in between. Ausar, humans, kaithrit girls, and even a Centaurin packing a gatling-laser make up their ranks. They’re all wearing skintight black space suits and peppering the cover around you with bullets.

History/Personality/Information of Note

For the Fall of The Phoenix mission, the pirates may have attacked The Phoenix for personal reasons.

For the Rescue on Deck 29 mission, the pirates will be assassins who are guarding an area of interest to the Black Void.

Interactions

They can be found and confronted raiding The Phoenix during the Fall of The Phoenix mission. If Captain Steele loses the battle, 75% of the credits held will be stolen and all equipment worn (except underclothes) will be taken, melee and ranged weapons will be replaced with rocks, The Phoenix will be lost to the pirates, and the mission will be left a failure.

During the Rescue on Deck 29, they are hostile forces and must be bypassed to successfully complete Saendra's rescue mission. Losing to them in combat during this mission will result in a bad end.

Combat

They fight as a mob using both melee and ranged kinetic attacks, so having an attack that can hit multiple targets is useful.

Combat actions include:

  • On the Fall of The Phoenix mission:
    • They are equipped with fists and pistols, and wear premium shields.
    • Broadside - 25% chance of dealing kinetic damage, 5% per stack of Disarming Shot.
    • Carpet Grenade - Launches carpet grenades that deal kinetic damage with a cooldown of five rounds.
    • Bulletstorm - Several light attacks. Damage is modified by weapon stacks rather than chance of happening.
    • Fallback Ranged Attack - Ranged shotgun attack dealing kinetic damage.
  • On the Rescue on Deck 29 mission:
    • The assassins are equipped with shockblades and machine pistols, and wear premium shields.
    • Note: This combat encounter will take place in "Pitch Black".
    • Machine Pistols - Ranged attack dealing kinetic damage.
    • Flashbang - Attack that may inflict "Blind" on all opponents for three rounds.
    • Smoke Grenade - Attack that may inflict "Blind" on the opponent (the player character) for three rounds.
    • Concussion Grenade - Attack that deals moderate to high kinetic damage based on the opponent's reflexes.

Resistances:

  • 100% immunity to all lust attacks

Loot/Items/Equipment

The pirates on The Phoenix will drop 2500 credits and are worth 250 XP.

The pirates on Deck 29 drop between 80 to160 credits and are worth 500 XP.

Sex

No sex options are available for the mob.

Quests

The pirates are associated with The Fall of The Phoenix and Rescue on Deck 29 distress call quest events.
