In the midst of it all is a set of chains and cuffs - chains hanging from the ceiling, cuffs affixed to the floor - and hanging naked on it, like a pelt on a curing rack, is a little man, perhaps in his late twenties or early thirties. His hairline is receding, and his skin glistens with sweat and a greenish, slimy substance.
