Description
A robotic boss-creature unleashed by Hand So to prevent Captain Steele from stopping her.
Appearance
You are fighting the Firewall. It is a mighty, motley collection of heavy duty industrial tools welded together to form a hulking robot, at least eight feet in height. Its round, riveted torso combines with its long, piston-driven arms to give it a hunched, gorilla-like profile. In way of hands it has implacably strong crane grapnels, and its two feet are square and support-flapped, built to take any kind of weight. Its head is a square, blank screen, on which a red exclamation mark blinks interminably.
History/Personality/Information of Note
The Firewall must have been built by Hand So as a guardian to her A.I. core. It is controlled by a V.I. and possibly partially by So herself.
Interactions
The Firewall is hostile upon encounter and will instantly engage in combat with the player character.
Combat
The Firewall is fitted with a decent shield.
Its combat actions include:
- Attack - Claw attack.
- Electropulse - Attack to disable shields.
- Flamethrower - Attack that causes thermal damage and inflicts the "Burning" status effect for 1-3 rounds.
Resistances:
- 15% weakness to laser attacks
- 10% weakness to plasma attacks
- 40% weakness to electric attacks
- 25% immunity to thermal attacks
- 100% immunity to lust attacks
The Firewall will try to disable the player character's shields first before using its flamethrower attack. If the player character loses to the Firewall, it will turn the player character over to Hand So, taking any necessary items. So will do what she intended, resulting in a bad end.
Loot/Items/Equipment
After victory in combat, the player character can choose to either go back and let the overloaded computers explode, or move forward to try to save Hand So's A.I.
If advancing forward, there is an option to loot the A.I. if the player character has a high enough intelligence. Characters with intelligence under 15 have a 5% chance of passing, and characters in the Tech Specialist class will have a 10-point advantage. After successfully passing the intelligence check, So's A.I. will be transferred to a data bead in which the player character can decide to keep in the inventory or completely destroy.
The player character can also disable the sex bot factory entirely or change the rate at which each gender appears in the Wastes.
Sex
Currently, the Firewall has no sex scenes.
Quests
The Firewall is associated with Colenso's The Hnngularity questline.
