Shade is a kaithrit bounty hunter and sometimes-pirate that you meet on Myrellion, shortly after meeting Kara Volke for the first time. Kara asks you to distract Shade, who's on the planet looking for her; depending on your choices in Kara's introduction, you can either end up with Shade as your lover, drinking friend, or sworn enemy. Through her interactions, you'll find that Shade is an older woman -- a mother, too -- and a veteran with plenty of stories under her belt.

Shade Irons is a tall, athletic woman in her mid thirties, with enough age and experience under her belt to show, but not damage her killer figure. She's sporting a head of silver hair that runs just past her shoulders, parting at the top to make way for a pair of cute little cat ears, both of which are a little chewed up around the edges. She's got tanned, sun-kissed skin over toned muscle and voluptuous curves: a pair of big, motherly hips and E-cup breasts take her tough exterior and meld it into something like out of an ultraporn holo.

Shade's wearing a bulky jet blue duster, covered in silvery circuits and lightningbolt patterns. Underneath it, she's got a pair of scruffed up old jeans, a shirt, and a low-cut ballistic vest loaded with body armor plates. Shade was born on Rosha, the kaithrit homeworld, to a young computer expert and a mystery father. She grew up relatively poor and, despite her access to education, eventually turning to bounty hunting to make ends meet. During her early years as a huntress, she met the ausar pirate Amara Faell and had a child by her: Astra. Her pregnancy caused a falling out with her mother, and Astra fled to the icy world of Uveto where she was taken in by the Stormguard religious faction. She lived there for several years before returning to her career, now with greater training and backing thanks to her new patrons. She has since pulled several high profile contracts, including rescuing corporate C.E.O.s' families, and on occasion has joined forces with her sometimes-lover Amara to hunt prey for the Black Void. This side job eventually leads her to meet the PC, either as allies, lovers, or enemies.

Once you get to know her, Shade reveals herself to be calm, cool, and laid back. She's capable, but doesn't show off -- though she is happy to share the details of some of her more impressive bounties with you over drinks. You can fuck Shade at the tavern on Myrellion simply by asking, prompting her to take you back to her ship, the Mirage, and ride you. Shade's scenes are fairly dominant on her part, with her playing the classic "busty MILF" role as a more experienced leading partner. She has a tail-cunt, earned on one of her bounty missions, and is more than happy to use it on you in bed, which can lead to her tail bearing eggs.

KaraQuest, Part 1

Shade starts off as a bounty hunter looking for your employer. It's possible to distract Shade (successfully or not), or to betray Kara and help Shade cash in on the bounty. If you end up fighting against Shade and winning, she'll escape to fight another day; if you lose, she'll contemptuously dismiss you and never be seen again. If you successfully distract her (via flirting) or side with her, you'll earn a friend and possible lover on Myrellion.

If you don't side with Shade, she'll appear later as an optional boss in the second part of Kara's adventure (not yet implemented).

Talk

In addition to the usual talk options, Shade can eventually reveal the existence of the 5th planet in TiTS: Uveto, where she lived for some time, and where her daughter Astra currently resides. She mentions that she is a member of the Stormguard religious faction, despite her agnosticism, and deeply respects their warrior tradition, which helped to shape her into the woman she is today.

She'll also hint at several of the bosses to be encountered in Kara's second quest, the Pirate Base, including Dr. Khan and Amara Faell.
