Description

One of the first pre-Warp Gate Terran colonies to have declared independence from the homeworld and has remained independent from the Terran-Space Coalition even after the Gates came online.

[A] similar set-up to New Texas: founded by a generational ship's crew (primarily from the People's Republic of Canada and the North American Union), but rather than landing on a green garden world, they landed on a world of vast, empty plains and craggy mountains. Vesperia wasn't terribly fertile, but it was extraordinarily resource rich, with an abundance of precious and practical metals in the mountains.

Given the difficult mountains and the tremendous distances of empty land between them, the colonists quickly developed a tauric gene modification path that would grant them enhanced speed, stamina, and stability during the long settlement process. Much of Vesperia's population took, and to this day continue to take, Taurico, resulting in a dominant population of big, powerful 'taurs: moose and buffalo basis are the most common, but cows, horses, mountain goats, and deer show up as well. Greater speed/mobility, carry weight, stamina, and strength are all highly valued -- and nobody's complaining that the TF naturally grants dudes huge beast-cocks and the woman ultra-voluptuous curves. Vesperia still has a pure human population (about 33%), but most citizens voluntarily take Taurico in their early teens for both the practical benefits and the cosmetic appeal -- being a big, strong 'taur is the standard of beauty on Vesperia... and it doesn't hurt that the mod has been known to give quite the appearance boost besides.

[R]emains rustic, largely devoted to farm exports and resource extraction from the mountains, with several orbital tether-stations hosting the high tech society and facilitating trade. Due to the way the Confederate Parliament works, Vesperia is hugely focused on extracting and farming as much as they can and exporting all of it -- they even import their food back again afterwards, in order to maximize their votes.
