More than twenty years before TiTS takes place, Zeke was part of a smuggling ship's crew, serving under a younger [[Lysander Chow]]. At some point while working for Chow, Zeke met and had a one night stand with pirate [[Amara Faell]], which eventually resulted in the birth of a child, [[Kaede]]. Given their dangerous and criminal work, Zeke agreed to retire from smuggling to take care of Kaede. In the intervening years, Zeke was promoted to manager of the [[Tavros Station]] garage, and near the present day, was commissioned by [[Victor Steele]] to repair the adventurer's original starship, a beat-up [[CassTech Z14]].
