Bell-Isle/Grunmann was an early Terran mega-corporation, existing before first contact with other races, during the age when human ships were still “slow boating” between star systems. The company sponsored several colony ships, including the Nova, and provided cutting-edge technology for colonists. The company appears to have disappeared long before the 14th Planet Rush, as extranet records of them are rare to nonexistent -- the company likely collapsed centuries ago.
