Company Name: Bell-Isle/Grunmann

Industry: Colonial technology mega-corporation

Head Office: Terra, Sol System

Bell-Isle/Grunmann was an early Terran mega-corporation, existing before first contact with other races, during the age when human ships were still “slow boating” between star systems. The company sponsored several colony ships, including the Nova, and provided cutting-edge technology for colonists. The company appears to have disappeared long before the 14th Planet Rush, as extranet records of them are rare to nonexistent -- the company likely collapsed centuries ago.

Trivia

It is very likely that the Bell-Isle/Grunmann company is based off of the real-world Northrop Grumman aerospace and defense company. Northrop Grumman is the company that manufactured the lunar lander for the Saturn V rocket during the Apollo moon missions of the 1960s and 1970s as well as the wings and vertical stabilizer for the Space Shuttle. They are also notable for producing the RQ-4 Global Hawk UAV and the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.
