A tachyon lance
Tachyon lances are the bleeding edge of energy weaponry, projecting faster-than-light, subatomic particles to annihilate any and all matter in its line of fire. Unfortunately, each shot can easily use up a ship’s entire energy supply and the intense heat generated from its usage requires the installation of massive heat sinks in place of key armor mounts.
