After the excursion to the baths Varena will figure out where the breeding pits are. Your party will head there, but you will be waylaid by Raqian. You will have a few options you can try to convince him, but all of them except "Traitor in KM" will lead to fight (But only if you accused the right person ({{spoiler|Vrannus}}), otherwise it will also lead to a fight with him). If you accused the right person hen will let Varena incapacitate him without a fight. You can then keep his armor for yourself or give it to Varena which will give her more armor, some resists and defenses at cost of some evasion and warding. The Breeding pits is mostly the same for both paths, save for the guest companion: Random encounters with imps or demons, a bunch of bosses, and a lot of loot, culminating in a fight against faceless blade and Blood knight. This is where it's revealed that the Calise in the city is actually Kasyrra (If your champ hasn't figured that out yet.) After beating them, Faceless blade will eat souls and become Godless Blade, and you must beat her down again. After that, you can kill them or bring them into custody. If you didnt kill the blood knight, you can bring her with you to the King to out Kasyrra. However, if you accused the wrong person during the feast, you will be accused of consorting with Kasyrra. If you defend yourself poorly, you will be taken to Vrannus's personal dungeon in coastlands (Which isnt here yet so you'll just be placed back in Khor'minos until it is, then you will be taken there). If you accused right or defend yourself successfully, you will go to the reward: You can choose between Varena's hand (Shes not his to give), Vrannus's hand (King tells you of his estate but thats about it), Kelsaz's hand (You get to sex him afterwards.), Citizenship & Estate (Unknown what it does), Cold Hard Lucre (20k EC), Nothing..., [[Keldoran's Harp]] and Aid for Hawkethorne (Effects unknown). This is where the quest finishes.

Over Troubled Water is a side quest given by Varena, the Crown Princess of Khor'minos after the events of A Feast for Heroes. To access the quest, the Champion must have flirted with or complimented Varena when talking to her at the feast.

Phase 1

Spoilers

Varena asks the Champion to find a red labrys. The labrys' location is random; the Champion must read each tile to find it.

Upon staking out the correct location, the group will find and capture the spy, who will refuse to give up their employer. The Champion is presented with 3 options to gain further insight

  • Observe
  • Persuade
  • Intimidate

If the player intimidates the spy, Varena will express distaste with the champion's methods. In all cases, the spy will be remitted to the custody of Raqian, but if the Champion chooses Persuade, Varena will order a writ of emancipation for them.

Following this, the champion is given the option of helping Varena distribute the contents of her cargo to the people of Khor'minos.

Phase 2

Now that the Champion and Varena know who is responsible for spying on her, meeting the princess in the taphouse once more initiates phase 2.

Varena directs the champion to ask Livrea for information on the culprits. Livrea initially asks for money (Unless you're lovers in which case she was going to tell you for free) but when she sees Varena she tells them where to find the culprit's son. Next you have to go to the tile next to brint/brienne's village. Intially Varena and Livrea will be stuck, and will have to be helped (An extra option is unlocked if you had sex with both of them). Afterwards you will have to bypass a guard.

The house the Champion ends up at shows signs of loud sex occurring within. Three options are available.

  • Knock
  • Peek in the window
  • Sneak in the back

Knocking accomplishes nothing, but peeking in the window or sneaking in the back (If agility check is failed?) will both trigger an attack by an incensed Ramien.

If the champion wins the fight, Ramien's girlfriend asks you what is going on. If the champion loses the fight, she strikes him over the head and he crumples. In either case, a conversation ensues.

Phase 3

Following the previous developements, the next location of interest is the bathhouse. Champion, Varena and Livrea will enter an instanced version of the Bathhouses to snoop around. On the first floor you can meet a lupine woman whom you can sex up, or Arille (If you interacted with her before?), and in the boiler room you will bump into a disguised Isadora. All three will provide you with the password you'll need to enter the "Private Saunas" (Though only the bold part matters "Roses"). After you give the password to the guard, you will enter the Bath House Secret Lair. There you will find Ramien (If you're a thief, you can rob him, otherwise you can only beat him up), Khaius and a rhyming Succubus (You can challenge her sexually or martially to get Khaius keys.), the Iavari twins (You can get a key from them too, and, should the champion have sneaked in back in previous phase, they will be able to talk about Ramien. If they beat him up and tell the twins about it, they will give the champion Heart of Oak). Afterwards, the champion can take the north door to meet Radmus and his demon friend Caedlan. You can chat with them for a while but will have to fight them in the end. Losing will lead to a bad end. Winning will give you an option to interrogate them and kill or imprison them. Afterwards you can search the room to get Caedlan's scrolls and Iavari runestone. The runestone can be used to open the rune warded door behind which lies a ritual circle. (Potentially, Nareva Soulbound champions will be able to skip the runestone) The champion can destroy the ritual, or attempt to perform it themselves (High cunning AND willpower required). If performed, the ritual will summon Elosa. You can then choose to take either her Blessing, or the Summon Elosa power. The phase can be finished by going back to the furnace room, using the runestone to unlock valve control and either opening all valves (Diluting the corruption, but not cutting it out entirely) or switching out the valves, so that the corrupt pipe is the only one not flowing. You can then leave the bathhouse and go to ember's taphall to get a debrief from Varena to finish the phase.

Phase 4

NOTE: This phase goes in tandem with the final phase of The Siege of Khor'minos. Varena's path is mutually exclusive with Calise's path.

After the excursion to the baths Varena will figure out where the breeding pits are. Your party will head there, but you will be waylaid by Raqian. You will have a few options you can try to convince him, but all of them except "Traitor in KM" will lead to fight (But only if you accused the right person (Vrannus), otherwise it will also lead to a fight with him). If you accused right or defend yourself successfully, you will go to the reward: You can choose between Varena's hand (Shes not his to give), Vrannus's hand (King tells you of his estate but thats about it), Kelsaz's hand (You get to sex him afterwards.), Citizenship & Estate (Unknown what it does), Cold Hard Lucre (20k EC), Nothing..., Keldoran's Harp and Aid for Hawkethorne (Effects unknown). This is where the quest finishes.
