Description
Lysander Chow is a notorious smuggler and criminal entrepreneur operating on the galactic frontier. A playboy billionaire and cardshark, he originally owned the Blade and provides work for several crews of smugglers, including Kara Volke. He is often shown in direct conflict with pirates, hinting that his organization may be directly in competition with the Black Void.
Appearance
"Mr. Chow," you say as your vision clears. Chow's figure comes into focus on screen, a short, rail-thin asian man, dressed to the nines in old-school business formal. A short-brimmed hat hides his receding hairline, and he leans on a gold-crowned cane even while he sits. Thinking back, this is the first time you've seen the cane without even a hint of somebody's blood stained into it. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
-From The Silence.
History/Personality/Information of Note
Very little is known about Mr. Chow, other than that he is a billionaire, card shark, and womanizer. Chow commands a fleet of smuggling ships, including the Silence (captained by Kara Volke), and was himself a smuggler captain in his youth. He is fairly old now, and prefers to spend most of his time directing operations or managing his criminal empire between high-stakes poker games.
He was the original owner of the Blade, before Kiro Tamahime hijacked it. More than twenty years ago, he was a close friend of engineer Zeke Entara, and regularly employs the Entaras in his less criminal ventures.
Interactions
Chow is never directly met by Captain Steele, but appears in several background sources, including fiction and the spinoff game The Silence.
Quests
Chow gives Kara the initial quest that sets off the events of The Silence, directing the crew of the eponymous ship to the wreckage of a Nova Securities corvette in the aftermath of a Black Void attack.
