The Daer Worm is a larger and more dangerous version of the Daer Wormling and a hostile encounter found in its lair during Kimber's Tarkus quest.

Appearance

The daer worm is a monstrous creature easily twenty feet long, with a body covered with brown and black chitin and dozens of spindly, clawed legs. Its head is wedge-shaped, with foot-long spikes running in ridges down the sides, and a wide, toothy underbite maw filled with more teeth than any creature should need. The worm glares down at you with four beady black eyes as its body sways back and forth, jaws snapping.

Interactions

The Daer Worm will be found in its own special chamber at the end of the lair. Should the PC enter the chamber, it will attempt to kill you on sight. Even if the player kills it, its offspring will still roam the lair. The Daer Worm is the target necessary to be killed as part of Kimber's quest. If the player discovers and kills the Daer Worm before accepting the quest, they can always return to it and collect the samples from its corpse.

- Basic melee attack

Bite Attack - The Daer Worm will lunge at the player and try to bite them with its powerful jaws lined with several rows of razor-sharp teeth.
- Used every 2-3 turns
  - Will induce Bleeding If it hits while shields are down

40% immunity to Kinetic attacks
50% weakness to Electric attacks

Immune to all lust attacks

Trivia

The Daer Worm bears some resemblance to the Graboids. A race of large, carnivorous, tunneling worms from the "Tremors" film franchise.

-Daer Worms are the presumed adult version of the [[Daer Wormling]]. They are a rare, yet invasive species hailing from the their homeworld of Daerinoys.

So the Gabilani scientists had to come up with a brilliant solution to save their people. Astronomers saw the neighboring planet of Daerinoys was a similar size and composition to Tarkus and rich in metal, minerals, and frozen, clean water. So the Gabilani decided to construct ''The World Attractor'', a machine that would bring Daerinoys into Tarkus' orbit so it could be terraformed into a world that could be colonized. Unfortunately, the Gabilani didn't realize they had no way to stop the planet once it started moving, causing it to crash and wipe out 80% of Tarkus' population and destroyed 90% of all of Daerinoys lifeforms and potential resources for it to be colonized.
-As such, the few survivors were forced to migrate across the [[Stellar Tether]]. This invasive species should be treated with great caution, as its offspring have a knack for tunneling through the soil and the worm itself is capable of swallowing [[Gabilani]] and [[Raskvel]] whole.
