Daer Wormlings are the presumed juvenile offspring of the [[Daer Worm]]. They are a rare, yet invasive species hailing from the their homeworld of Daerinoys.

500 years ago, the [[Gabilani]] and the [[Raskvel]] of [[Tarkus]] where suffering from overpopulation and dwindling resources. So the Gabilani scientists had to come up with a brilliant solution to save their people. Astronomers saw the neighboring planet of Daerinoys was a similar size and composition to Tarkus and rich in metal, minerals, and frozen, clean water. So the Gabilani decided to construct ''The World Attractor'' a machine that would bring Daerinoys into Tarkus' orbit so it could be terraformed into a world that could be colonized. Unfortunately, the Gabilani didn't realize they had no way to stop the planet once it started moving, causing it to crash and wipe out 80% of Tarkus' population and destroyed 90% of all of Daerinoys lifeforms and potential resources for it to be colonized.
 
 
 
As such, the few survivors were forced to migrate across the [[Stellar Tether]], including the [[Daer Worm]]. This invasive species should be treated with great caution, as they have a knack for tunneling through the soil and devouring literally anything including [[Gabilani]] and [[Raskvel]].

To reiterate, the Daer Wormling will kill the PC if you lose to it, resulting in a '''[[Bad_Ends_by_Source#Daer End|Bad End]]'''. When fought, the wormling isn't that tough to the point in which it might actually be possible to kill 1 at level 2. Even if it gets to strong for the player can always flee from it. However, the wormling has a unique burrowing ability that prevents the player from leaving and temporarily renders it completely immune to all attacks. Also, it uses carapace armor similar to the [[Sydian Female]] instead of an actual Plasma Shield.

The daer wormling is about two feet long. Its body is covered with reddish-brown chitin, and it has dozens of spindly, clawed legs. Its head is wedge-shaped, with tiny spikes running in ridges down the sides, and a wide, toothy maw. Four beady black eyes fix on you from above the head's spikes. It's clearly hostile, and skitters back and forth as it looks for an opening.

These creatures can be encounter during Kimber's Daer Worm enemies in their lair, with a 70% chance of them appearing on a hostile square possibly as a larger group. Should Steele lose them they the wormling(s) will kill Steele.

  • Bite - The wormling will try to bite the player with its many rows of razor-sharp teeth.

    • If the attack lands
      • Deals ~12 raw kinetic damage
  • Burrow -The wormling will deep tunnel and try to sneak attack the player.
    • Used every 3rd or 4th turn
    • If the Daer wormling does not have the burrowed Status effect
      • Daer wormling gains the burrowed Status effect
        • Becomes immune to all damage for 1 round
    • If the Daer wormling has the burrowed Status effect
      • If the attack Lands (Chance to land is increased by 75%)
        • Deals ~25 kinetic damage
        • If Steele does not have Shields
          • Steele becomes hobbled for the rest of the fight
