The Stone Titan is an earth elemental and an optional boss that guards his home in the northmost part of the Coastlands.

From the cautionary signs before 'his canyon' and Ashelander's account, the Stone Titan has existed in his area of the Coastlands for a long time. Unlike most elementals, if it is defeated, the 'spirit' within its core remains active as the Elemental Core, and seems to possess a limited awareness and focuses on the enemies of the Champion by itself.

A particularly cantankerous little elemental. I never got a good look at it, courtesy of the damnable thing trying to shoot me out of the sky every time I flew too near 'his' canyon. That stupid heap of slag ought to be glad I never decided to teach it a lesson.

Appearance

Gods above, that must be the biggest earth elemental you've ever seen. Easily more than forty feet tall, its body is a patchwork of various enormous boulders, a mismatch of colors and minerals laid together to form a terrifying, bipedal figure.

As you struggle to comprehend the sheer scale of the elemental, a single, piercing orange light gleams from its position deep-set in the 'head' of the giant; your stomach drops as the stony powerhouse's amber beam focuses in on you like a searchlight. Several earth-rattling, staccato pulses echo from the titan, before it assumes a brawler's stance with an approximation of a roar!

Interactions

Investigating the canyon, the Champion feels an uneasy aura about the place when the earth begins to shake from inside the cliff. Bursting from the cliff, an enormous earth elemental at about 40 feet looms over the Champion. When the amber light from its 'orange head' focuses on the Champion, it assumes a brawler's stance and unleashes a roar.

Being at the same place since their last encounter, as soon as the titan notices their presence, it emits a pulsing bellow as another fight begins.

With the titan defeated, nothing of interest remains at the end of the short canyon.

Despite the Champion's defeated state, the titan does not finish off the Champion and instead smashes the ground beside them, scaring the Champion away with a frightening display of strength. Content with the Champion's decision to flee, it unleashes a beam of energy into the sky - a powerful warning shot.

Defeated, the titan crashes into the canyon, causing a spectacle of crashing rocks that last for several minutes - if present, Ashelander will hum triumphantly. Once the dust has settled, hundreds of gleaming gemstones are scattered upon the shattered rocks, but what the Champion bumps into is the perfectly spherical orange gemstone that is its elemental core. Despite the destruction of its patchwork body, the core remains active, although shrunken in size. The blinding amber flash dims to a faint orange glow as it focuses on the Champion and it lets of a soft cat-like purr - if the Champion is a Black/White mage they will guess that its happy.

If the Champion decides to Drop the Elemental Core, it will gather the surrounding small stones to form a miniature version of its patchwork body and walk away at a leisurely pace - Ashelander will be both bewildered and angered that he can do that, if present.
