"We have talked for two centuries, and each time you elves have reneged on your previous promises. Blame your queens for being perfidious liars — if you are as innocent as you purport yourself to be, then the blame rests squarely on their shoulders! If you will not leave, then I will send you out, and teach you to stay out!"
The Avanai Rider is a generic avanai that rides a gigantic snow roc as his mount. Like most of the residents of the Glacial Rift, they hate the presence of elves and will become immediately hostile to them and anyone associated with them.
Appearance
As the snow roc closes the distance, you spy a rider atop its back on a saddle — an elegant, fine featured bird-man, his feathers blue and white to complement the bone and gold jewelry that adorns his lithe body and the crystal-tipped spear clenched in one hand. The gigantic bird slows as it approaches you, pulling into a circle as it passes above your heads, and the bird-man leaps from its back, spreading his wings as he cartwheels through the air to land on his feet in the snow next to you. The jewelry aside, he's wearing nothing save for what looks to be a cloak of his own feathers, pulled tightly about his own body, and he holds the tip of his spear downwards non-threateningly as he approaches you. Moments later, the roc lands a little distance away, looking nonplussed and starting to preen itself.
Interactions
First Encounter
The first encounter will have 2 different variations, firstly if the Champion is an Elf and/or has Etheryn around: while travelling through the frozen waste, the sound of a bird screaming rips through the valley. What follows is the sight of a gigantic bird flying from a nearby cliff, and dives towards them at breakneck speeds. On top of gigantic bird is a bird-man, who hurls a spear towards the Champion, and if present, Etheryn. He will call out the presence of elves in the rift and exclaim that they have outstayed their welcome. The party is able evade the attack and Etheryn or the Champion attempt to explain that there is a mistake, but they are cutoff as hr exclaims that the elves have lied in their promises for two centuries, that their queen is to blame, and he will make sure to teach them to stay out of the rift - and with that a fight begins and the Avanai codex entry will be unlocked.
The second variation is occurs if the previous one does not: similar to the previous variant, while travelling through the frozen waste, the sound of a bird screaming rips through the valley. What follows is the sight of a gigantic bird flying from a nearby cliff, and dives towards them at breakneck speeds. As the roc nears, it slows to a circling pattern above the Champion and its rider leaps from it and lands on his feet next the. Champion. In broken Belharan, the rider greets the Champion, asking what brings them to the rift, and wonders if they are lost, considering they don't seem well suited to the cold (unless they are a frostscale salamander or an arctic vulperine) - and if they are indeed lost, he will guide them out as the rift. The Champion explains that they have business in the rift, to which the rider cautions that a war will begin soon and that it is not safe for outsiders to be regardless of their business. They heed the words of the rider, but assures them that since they are the Champion of Frost, they can handle themselves well enough. The rider tenses, and the atmosphere becomes instantly soured, and he exclaims that two and a half centuries ago a Champion of Frost came from the elf-city, which makes the Champion a friend of the elves. He will then hurl a spear towards the Champion - and then a fight begins and the Avanai codex entry will be unlocked.
If the Champion is defeated by the Avanai Rider, the Champion will be knocked to the ground, be disarmed and winded. Being the victor, the Avani Rider will give a hard squeeze on the Champion's ass and he will proceed to have his way with them (see defeat sex scenes).
Defeating the Avanai Rider will have him sink to one knee, disarmed and winded, just like his bestial mount. With that, the following options will become available (see sex options and requirements in sex section):
- Interrogate - Get some answers out of this bird-man. What's his perspective on the fact that everyone in the glacial rift seems to hate the guts out of elves? (available until chosen)
- Ride - Pin this beautiful bird under you and take his cock up your (vagina/ass).
- Molest - Sure, the bird-man has got all those talons and sharp points on him... but on the other hand, he's got all those crystalline feathers. They must feel wonderful.
- Beakjob - You've vaguely wondered what one might feel like, something so sharp and dangerous so close to your (cock noun)... the thrill of danger, of taming something like this does have its own appeal.
- Leave - It's not worth it. Just go.
Interrogate
Interrogating the avanai will have the Champion crouch down beside him as they state that they have questions they want answered. Firstly, they ask why did he choose to attack them, to which he answers that: if Etheryn is present; she is a boer'alvar and that her kind have to leave or the grand alliance will chase them out, else if the Champion is an elf; if they genuinely speak in ignorance, the elves have overstayed their welcome within the rift and if they don't leave, the grand alliance will chase them out, else; word of them being some Champion of Frost of the elf city travelled fast, and since that makes them a friend of the elves, it is their duty to drive an agent of the elves from their lands. Regardless, it is only by their mercy that they grant the elves a short grace period to leave peacefully before they forcibly expel them from the rift.
Still curious for more answers, the Champion asks him what the grievances of the rift's residents have against the pale elves. He explains that two centuries ago, the elves saved them from a great darkness, and once that was over, the elves did not return to their city like they promised and established a keep in the rift. Overtime the elves took more and more of the mountain's glaciers, melted the ice, and collapsed cliffs that the rocs nested on. The elves took away the blessing of the sky, polluted glacial streams, and time and again they would negotiate and make peace with the residents of the rift, yet time and again they would break those promises. As such a grand alliance was formed by the people of the ice and storms to drive out the elves once and for all. If Etheryn is present, she will explain that the queen of Winter City has changed, and proposes that with a new leadership, new negotiations can be had. He interrupts her, answering that the queen of the elves has changed twice, yet nothing in the rift has, and asks why would another change in leadership be any different. Regardless, the Champion contemplates that this is something for Etheryn to handle, and that it might take a very long time, however, nothing can be done at the moment. Maybe if they get a better picture of what's going on, they might be able to help Etheryn with this mess. Satisfied with the answers, the Champion lets the rider and roc limp away into the snow and ice.
Subsequent Encounters
Subsequent encounters with Avanai Riders will have an assortment of random variation, which have a roc dive towards them at breakneck speeds with a hostile avanai rider throwing a spear them, all the while Etheryn will have comments during if present.
Victory and Defeat scenes are the same as the first encounter.

Appearance
As you make time across the frozen waste, your exploration's cut short by the sound of a bird screaming out over the valley of the rift, the dissonant sound carrying swiftly through the shrill air. This is swiftly followed by the sight of a gigantic bird taking off from one of the nearby cliffs — a creature about twice to thrice your height and proportions to match, snowy white in color save for the crystalline clear nature of its beak, talons and guard feathers. It dives towards (party member) at breakneck speed, its intentions clear as it pulls into a stoop and clears what might be an hour's worth of walking for you in the blink of an eye. Drawing your (weapon), you and await to fend off the predator — if it's but a wild beast, perhaps you can convince it that as much of a morsel as you might be, you're not worth the effort.
