Wiki Editor's Note: Fenoxo, like any person who professionally works on something for a long time, has sought to make improvements to the thing he has dedicated much of his time to. During the pre-development of "Trials in Tainted Space", feedback from the game's predecessors: "Corruption of Champions" and "The Fall of Eden" has lead to many problems with the games being revealed and addressed in TiTS. One of these issues is races and special abilities. In CoC, every race (with the exception of the starting human race) offered an associated special ability, perk, and/or change to the minimum or maximum in core stats. The problem with this was that some special abilities and perks were objectively better than others(Rabbit Kick<Kangaroo Kick<Minotaur Kick<Horse Kick), offered useless abilities (Fox Fire and Illusion), or offered literally no benefits(Imp and Goblin race). Because such obvious advantages existed with certain races AND sexes it puts player's in a tough position, where, in order to win the game and experience most of its content, they had to conform to being either a Dragon or a Naga Hermaphrodite with hyper-sized attributes, instead of maybe a Rabbit Femboy, a Sexless Harpy, or an Incubus simply because that's what they wanted to be. As such, Fenoxo has purposely designed and allowed most of the transformatives in the game as purely cosmetic. Very few items have perks and even fewer are directly relevant to combat. The general theme is that most Perks that are added to the game through items, are through items that don't actually change the player's race. The one's that do, usually grant an ability that is similar to other abilities that can be found in other items, or offer marginal benefits in combat due to the existence of other drawbacks from the ability. The only exception to this rule is the Icy Veins & Wooly perks obtained from Frostfire & New Ewe which grants exclusive immunity to Uveto's Cold, allowing the usage of more powerful equipment instead of Freezing Resistant Equipment. This is so players will have the freedom to be literally whatever they want to be without any major consequences or drawbacks. Now that you have read this, please, don't write an item or ask for an item to be written that grants racially exclusive combat advantages, EVER (again). Thank you.
