This shield belt was hand-crafted by the pirate artificer, Urbolg, as a prototype for the even heavier shield belt he wears today. Numerous circuits have been replaced with more robust variants, and an excessive number of weighty power cells allow for higher peak deflections and longer sustained operation. In short, the weight will slow you down a bit, but it’ll provide plenty of protection in exchange.

Acquisition
Can be obtained from Urbolg on Zheng Shi during his "His Shield" talk. During this talk, if the player has less than 150 total shields, Urbolg hands you a key after insulting your current shield and taking pity on you. Take this key to the artificer's office two tiles away, open the safe, and you've got the shield. If the player's shields are at least 150, Urbolg will say that your current one is fine and that you don't need his help.
Note: Despite the scene and dialogue specifically mentioning your shield belt, the game doesn't currently check whether or not you're even wearing one. In other words, the easiest way to get the key from Urbolg if you already meet his standards is to simply ask him about his shield after manually equipping your own.
