Fated Names
Fated names are meant to be exclusive to the backers only and Fenoxo has asked that if discovered that they not be shared, unless approved for sharing. |
Fated names are special names you can give to Captain Steele that have pre-made characteristics and appearances. These were added to the game as rewards for backers who supported the game very early on in its development. If you decide to use one of these names during the character creation at the start of the game, the customization will continue normally but at the end this message will appear:
The chosen name is one that hangs heavy under the weight of destiny. Should you embrace your destiny, you may discover just how little Victor’s science may mean. Certain choices may be invalidated. You may find yourself a woman instead of a man, or a race unlike any other in the known galaxy.
Do you embrace the path the fates have spooled out before you or resign yourself to mediocrity?
You can choose either "Accept Fate" and allow the fated name to change your character or "Deny Fate" and be left with only the choices you made. Choosing "Accept Fate" will show a small vague description of the changes made to your character before continuing on to the tutorial.
Any decisions made during the initial customization well remain unless it is changed as listed below
KEEP IN MIND: Names are not case sensitive. For many names, genitalia changes will list the creation of a penis or vagina without specifying what type. Based on testing, the game seems to create penises based on race score but all created vaginas are human. However created penis lengths also seem to depend on race score but are not influenced by the "Hung" perk. Also note that because only listed changes can occur, some names can have multiple genders depending on what is chosen at the beginning of the character creation. For example, if female is chosen at the start and the name creates a penis but does not list a vagina change, you will end up a herm with both genitalia. Most changes to the type of something such as arms and legs or tails will usually first clear all appearance flags of the previous type and then add the appearance flags of the new type (none of the appearance flags are listed here to save space)
The "bugged" names have been reported on the github and will most likely be fixed soon.
