Unless we are both mistaken, that is the great boar that slew the former king-consort. It carried the name Grungendyr, and was a fearsome beast long before that fateful day. Legend has it the thing feasted on the flesh of the Wraith-touched that haunt the woodlands, and grew mighty from their corruption. It was a one-eyed monstrosity of such size that it is said to have brought jotuns low. After taking the throne, Alissa vowed to hunt the thing down to avenge her father, and indeed returned with its head as a trophy. It was celebrated throughout the kingdom.
Grungendyr is the spirit of the giant boar that slew Ryn’s father.
|Grungendyr headshot by Moira|
There's a boar the size of a draft horse rampaging around the dock, chasing imps and succubi with its sword-length tusks. It bites at their wings with jagged old teeth, tearing at the leathery flesh of any fiend too slow in its labors. A single baleful eye glowers at them from its half-translucent skull, aglow with malign intelligence; the other was lost long ago in life, leaving a vicious scar across the beast's face.
You first encounter Grungendyr near the southeastern docks on Dracia. You can choose to [Attack] or [Leave].
If you choose to [Take Totem] after defeating him in combat, you can learn the power Summon Grungendyr.
The Demon of Ice
