Sunlight Warriors
"Our place is ever at our queens side, until this land is finally purged of the heathen and the witch!"
The Sunlight Warriors are the spirits of Lumian valkyries, who served Queen Atheldred in life and continue to do so in death. They maintain a fanatical zeal for the worship of Lumia, and the purging of any Old Wyld loyalists. There are some restless valkyrie spirits in the Catacombs beneath the Palace of Ice, who you must defeat during the events of Specter of the Wyld.

Appearance
It's an elf, that much is clear at a glance: she's statuesque and well-built, not unlike the palace guards outside, but she's clad in resplendent golden-bronze armor, with a helm bearing a pair of gilded wings that protect her long ears. A teardrop shield is strapped to one arm, and the other carries a war spear at her side, its tip glinting with searing white flame.
"Our sunlit lady's flames are fueled by our faith!" the elf howls, stepping into the light. Three other similarly-clad warriors approach your party, two with spears and two with bows, their quivers full of sunlight. As they draw near, though, you realize that you can, if you squint, see ever so slightly through these warriors, and they trail a haze of icy mist all around themselves, ethereal and incandescent all at once.
They're ghosts, specters of the dead still clinging to this world. No doubt about it.
Elthara draws the same connection, bringing the flame in her hand to bear on the nearest of the four — a muscular bow-woman who's already drawing a coruscating golden arrow from her hip.

Specter of the Wyld
As you make your way into the catacombs, you are attacked by a group of valkyries. You need to defeat them to pass, or, if you lose, a Bad End is triggered. They appear again when you confront Queen Atheldred, but are sent to the afterlife with her, when you send her spirit on.
Bad End
If you lose in combat against the Sunlight Warriors, Hethia is stabbed through the chest with a spear. Before you can do anything, you are shot with arrows of pure sunlight and the last thing you hear is Etheryn screaming your name.
