"Why yes, I've been doing a lot of fucking of late, and yes, some of them were assholes. Kind of you to notice."

Leold is a follower of Master Tollus and member of the Demon Cult. Nearly 20 years ago, he was part of the attempt to take over Hawkethorne, only to be foiled by Gweyr. Despite being stabbed through the chest repeatedly, he survived his run in with Gweyr and has been working in secret with Tollus since. Leold is encountered in the present day during the events of Winter Wolf. He's artificially prolonged his life with gifts and potions from Mareth, and has become Tollus's most loyal follower and apparent second-in-command.

"A sacrifice every year during the conjunction of spheres; in return, elixirs enough to keep both Leold and I in health and youth until the next astrological event. Alchemical concoctions from the world of Mareth, potent enough to bring my first and favorite lieutenant back from the brink of death."
Master Tollus

Appearance

Finally, finally you behold the man you've only heard of in Gweyr's tale — a frostmander man with the iconic flame upon his tail and long, dark hair that hangs down to his shoulders. He isn't particularly well-built, sporting a lithe and lanky frame — well, save for the the gauntlet of black metal that extends all the way to his elbow. The way it's more or less fused with his arm, purple veins extending from the metal into his flesh, the way his muscles bulge on that arm and that arm only, making him appear lopsided — despite all that, though, the force with which he broke through Gweyr's guard indicates considerable strength, just like Tollus himself. Appearances, after all, are even more deceiving down here than ever.

Interactions

First Encounter

Leold appears in Gweyr's paralogue, berating the deceased or dispersed cultists for being unable to kill Gweyr despite outnumbering her twenty to one. He's initially reluctant to challenge the woman who he just witnessed kill more than twenty people, but defends Master Tollus after Gweyr breaks Tollus's fingers. Leold doesn't fare well, either being run through by Gweyr or Brother Sanders. However, unbeknownst to the town's defenders, Tollus used powerful potions to bring Leold back from the brink, and the two of them carried on the cult's operations.

In The Glacial Rift

"Wind in your bones, age in your joints, your senses dulling, your body failing," Leold says flatly as he advances upon you and Gweyr. "But the master and I, we can live forever. And soon enough, even though the Dark Lady has kindly taught us how to concoct them, we won't even need the potions any more."

As you're escaping from the Mage-Ship, Gweyr stops as she recognises Leold's voice commanding the cultists. She's in disbelief, repeating that she stabbed him with her sword and his wounds should have been fatal.

You don't actually encounter Leold until the second floor of the Abyssal Depths, the loyal follower again inserting himself as you attack Master Tollus. He taunts Gweyr, mocking her that she should have finished the job. Now she's suffering the effects of age as he and Tollus are as young as they were that night in Hawkethorne. You do battle with Tollus and Leold, however the cultists do not fight to the death. As you gain the upper hand, they retreat further into the cave until they end up in the Lureling's cavern with hundreds of captive Selkie marions. Tollus sets the selkies on you as they flee to a Waystone and escape. Later in the cavern, you find a Dream-Plate that Tollus had been creating for Leold, seemingly to protect his lieutenant from psychic control.

Bad End

If you fall to Master Tollus and Leold, the frostmander is jubilant at being able to kill his hated enemy. You then go into the generic bad end at the hands of the Lureling
