Arened is a Vulperine potter living in the Vulperine Village within the Windy Peaks. Once a forager for his tribe, one day he came upon a golden-black egg that hatched in his arms as he carried it back to his village. He took the harpy in and developed a fondness for them as her scent marked him as safe for the other harpies in the area who started leaving gifts for him to find and even eggs when the prospecting mother wasn't feeling ready for the task. Through the years he has adopted and fathered many harpies.
Appearance
You're met at the edge of the village by a heavyset man, maybe forty years old, with bright golden eyes and a coat of fur that's a mix of cream and reddish pink. Like most of the villagers, he's wearing just a loincloth and a vest of animal hide that leaves his chest bare. The only weapon on him is a flint axe slung through his belt, and his hands are raised in greeting.
Honestly, if you were colorblind you could almost mistake the man for Garth.
Interactions
Arened greets you as you enter his house, depending on the time of day he can be found either making pottery at his workstation or tucking his daughters in for the night. He serves as a vendor for every kind of Harpy Egg as well as general supplies, alongside his house serving as a place for the party to rest.
- Talk: Sit awhile by the fire and chat with the village's potter — and perhaps some of the colorful fowl he's got with him.
