Description
The Rat Thieves are members of the gang Rat's Raiders and are potentially hostile NPCs on Zheng Shi.
Appearance
Three diminutive mouse pirates stare you down with unwavering focus, weaving slowly near each other with confident smiles on their smooth and furry faces as colorful as their attitudes. They exchange knowing glances and mime invisible instructions between their thin lips, utterly assured of their victory against you through numbers alone. They make frequent attempts to bypass and surround you, their smooth undulations and whip-cracking tails a constant hair-raising reminder to be on guard.
They're protected by cobbled together suits of matte-black armor made of parts scrapped from a variety of manufacturers, giving them each a unique take on the dress code. Their helmets have special plates that fold over their wobbling, dish-shaped ears - even their tails, adorned with ribbons, are armored… bladed. On their gloved wrists, however, they each wear the same luminous wristband that spells 'RAT'S RAIDERS' in bright blue around the tight hoop. Those words leave fugitive shadows in the wake of elusive motions.
History/Personality/Information of Note
The Rat Thieves are members of the Rat Raiders gang and one of the 5 major gangs on Zheng Shi alongside the Corona Lords, the Jumper Pirates, Cyberpunks, and Star Vipers.
Unlike the other gangs, who all take some responsibility in ensuring that the mining operations go smoothly and generally tolerate each other, the Rats, while tasked with keeping freelancers out of the Foundry and Mines, often spend more of their time trying to indiscriminately rob unaffiliated individuals and even other members of the major gangs instead. Because of this they are generally despised by most of the asteroid's occupants. The Raiders encountered in-game fancy themselves as Robin Hood like characters; they care a great deal more for filthy lucre than sex, drugs, weapons, etcetera, and claim frequently that they are using their illicit gains to help others. As such, their favorite - and exclusive - targets are megacorporations, delighting in the fortunes to be made from the galaxy's richest and handing it out to those less fortunate.
A potential interaction indicates if Steele has no gems and a very, very low amount of credits on his or her person that they do practice what they preach, doling out only modest, necessary sums. The wily rodents never fight with claiming someone's body in mind, and are always encountered very insistently shaking down someone deemed to be 'out of place' for a donation of credits or gems, becoming hostile if their insipid toll is ignored.
Interactions
The PC will first hear of Rat's Raiders either after talking to the Rodenian Mechanic or speaking with Ardia about the Pirates. 72 hours after defeating Urbolg, an event can proc where the Korgonne Artificer will be fending them off from his workshop following a failed robbery. Only after witnessing this event will the Rat Thieves begin spawning Rarely in the Mines, and Commonly on the Foundry.
When the player encounters the Rat Thieves they will use their tails to force the PC's back against a wall or into a corner and force them to pay a toll. Methods of payment consist of:
- Pay Credits - Probably the safest option. All you have to do is load an anonymous chit and move on with your life… with quite a bit less in your digital wallet.
- The Thieves will force you to pay a percentage of your current total of wealth. Possessing large amounts of money leads to greater losses.
- Requires at least 1500 Credits
- Amount paid is reduced if the player has befriended the Rats after being discovered
- Amount donated to them is tracked.
- Pay Gems - You've not got a fight in you right now, best to pay up. Though considering they'll be looming over you and peering into your pack, this may be a bad idea.
- Requires you to have a Picardine Crystal, a Satyrite Crystal, a Kirkite Crystal, or Savicite
- If the player has 3 or less gems they will leave the player with 1 to protect them from Mining Robots. If the player has 4-15 gems they will take 3-6 gems. If the player possesses a large number of Gems (15+) and has not befriended the rats, then they will demand all of the gems or start a fight.
- Offer Oral - It's demeaning, but maybe you can get out of having to fight or pay if you offer them a little stress relief?
- The player attempts to seduce the thieves with oral sex to avoid the toll and the fight. However, this option has a 40% chance to fail. You can increase your odds of success for every pheromone perk you have to a minimum of 10%.
- Failing to Offer Oral or offer Milk will cause the Rats to start with higher lust if the player proceeds to fight them.
- Increases Rat Reputation by 1% if it succeeds.
- Offer Milk - You're not feeling up to fighting today, certainly not with breasts this full. See if the mouse-pirates will accept a creamier treasure than they're used to.
- Requires the PC to be lactating heavily.
- Requires Nipples to be either normal or inverted. Gooey tits, obscene nipple mutations, and Cum/Girlcum flavored lactation will lock this scene.
- The player attempts to seduce the thieves, offering to breastfeed them. However, this option has a 40% chance to fail. You can increase your odds of success for every pheromone perk you have to a minimum of 10%.
- Failing to Offer Oral or offer Milk will cause the Rats to start with higher lust if the player proceeds to fight them.
- Increases Rat Reputation by 2% if it succeeds.
- I'm Poor! - You have nothing to offer. If they've any principles, they won't attack you!
- Requires the player to be carrying no gems and less than 1500 credits
- Will result in the Raiders giving you at least 2000 credits + 1 random gem.
- Fight - Negotiations have broken down. Time to knock some sense into these vermin!
- Initiates combat
After four wins or losses cumulatively, the Rats will discern them to be the child of Victor Steele and fed a lie that you are the current CEO of Steele Tech by the Rival. This causes the rodents to see you as a wealthy corpo fiend who believes they can do whatever they want, Including interrupt the operations happening on Zheng Shi. Presumptions are made that Steele is a villain who needs to give back bit by bit. This will make them more hostile and harsh towards the PC causing them to fight more aggressively, demand more money and gems, appear more frequently, and unlock a unique Loss Sex Scene for PCs with a Penis. It is possible however, to change their opinion of you via your actions before and after fighting them.
There is also a rare encounter if the player knows of the Rat's Raiders gang on the The Forge in which one of the Star Vipers will be giving dommé Oral to one the Modded Mouse-Boys.
Rival Event on Zheng Shi
After befriending Rat's Raiders and using [Not Enemies], then Steele will have an alternative method of dealing with the Rival when reaching the Sidewinder. Normally when Steele approaches, Feruze and the cousin will be an obstacle that the player must fight through to get on board the Sidewinder. A hidden [ ??? ] option unlocks, and when chosen, has the six mice show up to help. Feruze and the Cousin will leap and fly to safety, chased off by the rodents, and Steele will get a kiss on the cheek before the rodenian bandits scurry after them.
This means that the PC will not fight Feruze, but it does count as a win of sorts.
Seasonal Event - Christmaus Cheer
During the Christmas seasonal period, it is possible to undergo a series of events with the six mice.
- PC must raise the Rat Attitude to 50+ after being identified as the CEO-to-be of Steele Tech
- PC must have a penis or a vagina
- PC must have read the Rodenian codex entry
- PC must not be a 'taur
When these stipulations are met, then while docked on Zheng Shi, there is a 25% chance when entering the Ship that the PC will be approached and can let them on the ship or turn them away. The PC will be able to have sex with some of the mice and at the end receive a handful of credits, and potentially, Claes' panties if the PC befriended them prior to this event.
Combat
The Rat Thieves are probably the most dangerous Generic enemy on Zheng Shi. This is because while the Bored Jumper focuses on a Smuggler fighting style, the Cyberpunk Security Operatives focus on a Tech Specialist fighting style, the Forgehound of the Corona Lords focuses on a Mercenary fighting style, and the Slyveren Slavebreaker focuses on a lust-based fighting style, the Rat Thieves combine some of the elements of the other enemies in addition to always working in groups of three. One of them will be a Female Rodenian, one will be a Human male modded with a mouse's ears and tail, and the last one will either be a Half-Rodenian Boy or Girl.
All rats have shared attacks, but Males and Females have their own unique approach to the fight. Female Rats have higher shields and are more vulnerable to electric attacks to weaken them for a Drone like TamWolf or Siegwulfe. They focus on stunning the player, hindering them, and bringing down their shields. Inversely, they are easier to stun. Male Rats have higher HP values, are harder to stun, and work on tripping and beating down the player through brute force.
Moreover, true to their name, they are more concerned about making a profit and as such are highly resistant to tease attacks. The intimidating presence of a very tall PC (6'5+) causes them to work harder, lowering their lust.
All rats are equipped with Ratty Armor, Shock Baton, and Salamander Shields.
Move Set
- Shock Prod - Electric damage for taking down shields and tazing pesky CEOs-to-be.
- Basic attack dealing electric melee damage
- Usable amongst all members
- Tail Lash - Armored tail inflicts kinetic damage.
- Basic Kinetic piercing melee attack
- Chance for Bleed if Shield Down.
- Usable amongst all members
- Ratpile - The rats will dog pile the player.
- Requires at least 2 Raiders to still be alive
- Requires the PC to be stunned, and for the player to fail to recover the next turn
- Deals Kinetic and Lust damage.
- Player becomes grappled until they break free or until 3 turns elapse.
- Robbery - The Rat Thieves will steal your valuables or disarm you
- Requires the PC to be grappled by the Ratpile move.
- The Raiders will randomly disarm or steal from you on the second turn and then perform the other action on the third turn after the initial Ratpile.
- Looting can only occur once per fight, but if conditions are viable, the rats can repeatedly tackle the player to the ground.
- Plunder Over Pillage - The thief who stole your valuables will prepare to flee the battle and make off with your goods.
- Requires a successful "Robbery" of valuables.
- Usable only for the Half-Rodenians or the Modded Mouse-Boy, and only begins to occur if one of the rats is KO'd.
- The player must defeat the marked thief within 3 turns otherwise they will flee with the goods and the battle will effectively count as a lost fight.
- Leg Strike - Low accuracy attack with a chance to Trip
- Deals kinetic damage
- Only used by Male Rats.
- Flashbang - Same as the Smuggler skill
- Deals no damage but has a chance to blind the PC. Effect is nullified by wearing Flash Goggles.
- Only used by Females Rats.
- Stun Gun - Fires an electric stun gun that deals bonus damage to shields
- Deals ranged electric damage to the PC, intended to wreck shields.
- Chance to stun if Shield is down
- Only used by Female Rats.
- Lust Cascade - Passive ability shared amongst all members: When a rodent is teased to 80 lust or higher, or is maxed out, their own lust starts transmitting. Other rats start taking lust damage as the over-teased ones try to relieve themselves.
- Giantslayer - Passive ability shared amongst all members: +5% Critical hit chance against really tall (6'5+) PCs.
- Get Down - Passive ability shared amongst all members: Male and Female Rodents pseudo-counter the Mercenary Skill: Detonation Charge and Carpet Grenades and the Smuggler Skill: Grenade by taking cover and reducing incoming damage by 50%. If the player uses Gas Grenade damage is not reduced.
- Resuscitation Pack - A Raider will inject a fallen ally with medicine.
- Resurrects an ally defeated by HP to 3/4 max health.
- Can only be used once per encounter.
- Shield Booster - The Raider will use a Booster to restore their shield half of their maximum shields.
- Usable once per Raider
- Tall PC Malus - Passive ability shared amongst all members: All rats have a chance to Lose 15 points of lust each turn when fighting against PC's taller than 6'5".
Damage Resistances
- 75% immunity to burning and electric attacks
Strategy
Due to the Rat Thieves having developed a reputation on the Fenoxo Forum, Blog, and Patreon of being incredibly difficult and frustrating opponents for the player to fight, to the point it has filled certain individuals with great contempt for them and the desire to be able to somehow kill them or otherwise remove interactions from the game, the following is a general strategy guide to fight them for individuals who are currently unable to formulate an effective strategy. Courtesy of the Wiki editors and the Rats' author: William.
- Buying Flash Goggles from Nerrasa on Uveto Station will nullify their flashbang attack entirely.
- The FemRats and MaleRats have separate mechanics. FemRats focus on attacking shields and have higher shields themselves, but are very vulnerable to being stunned. FemRats are also the ones with Flashbangs, so bringing them down ASAP again knocks that element out of the fight. MaleRats have higher HP and physique, making them a little harder to stun and they just hit you without much finesse.
- The main strategy to take on is to always take out the odd-one-out rat. If two FemRats, beat up the MaleRat(Jean the Tan Skinned Modded Mouse-Boy). If two MaleRats, beat up FemRat(Chiara the white furred Rodenian Female), and take the odd duck out ASAP. When they're allowed to combine their separate skills is when they're at their strongest.
- You can beat up the Forgehound and nab his +Aim Eyepiece Accessory which will outright nuke all the evasion the rats have, and their bonuses.
- Once their shields drop, they have high resistances to Burning and Electric attacks, so any weapon with its dominant outputs in those damage types are going to be doing you very little good. Mostly burning, though. Electric is still great for dropping shields.
- Ironically, one of the best weapons in general to use against them is the Shock Baton and also the Custom Shock Gear since it deals a fair mix of kinetic and electric damage to destroy shields plus has a stun chance to prevent them from regenerating or using their highly debilitating special abilities.

Loot/Items/Equipment
- Drops Mousearrela Cheese and Shock Baton.
Sex
- Predator and Prey - The player will happenstance on one of the Slyveren Slavebreakers giving head to a pent up Modded Mouse-Boy. (Appropriate Music)
- Upon following them to their little cozy closet, the player will have the option to either Watch, Join in if they have genitals and aren't a Taur, or Help Her suck his dick (Variations for Bimbos, Cum Addicts, and Orally Fixated PC's).
- Help Her raises Rat Reputation by 3.
Lose Scenes
- Robbery - The Rat Thieves will take a random amount of credits and/or gems at a higher minimum threshold than if you just payed the initial toll.
- Requires the player to lose to the Raiders without increasing any of their lusts to at least 80 out of 125.
- Requires that one of the Rat Raiders didn't flee with pilfered goods
- If the player has befriended them, the amount of money stolen is greatly reduced.
- If the player lost via HP, then it will be restored to full.
- The healing slightly increases lust.
Loss Sex:
All scenes require all the Raiders present and to not have robbed the player mid-fight. The PC is of course robbed after these scenes.
- Tease & Torture - PC is tackled, pinned, and facefucked by the mouse-boy while the other two deny orgasm after orgasm, robbing the player in the process. The PC does eventually cum, but they're not awake to enjoy it.
- Always first scene
- Rat Gangbang - PC is gangbanged to exhaustion, anally or vaginally. If PC has big boobs (D-cup or larger) the half-rodenian will titfuck them. If boobs aren't big enough, then the half-rat will facefuck them.
- Must not be a taur
- If the PC has a vagina and is a vaginal virgin, then the PC's asshole will be used instead.
- Horse Thieves - PC, upon turning the rats on and losing, will not be sexed. Instead, they will be so fired up in a mix of material and carnal lust that they will see the PC as a mode of transport to rob other freelancers on the station with.
- Requires the PC to be a taur
- Disabled if the rats are befriended.
- The PC will be moved around Zheng Shi, greatly reducing their energy. The scene ends with the PC having an orgasm while running away from a Bored Jumper, causing the Rats to flee and the player is helplessly left at the mercy of the Laquine in the mines.
- Harvest Cum - PC will be restrained and undressed, then have their prostate stimulated to fill several containers of cum. Their electric batons will then be used to utterly famish the PC, applying mild shock to the prostate.
- Requires a penis
- Requires the PC to be known as the inheritor-to-be of SteeleTech.
- Requires the PC to have triggered Loss Sex three times.
Victory Scenes
- +Be Nice+ - Take no reward from them. If these rats are really have any amount of charity in mind, then they might just appreciate it if you leave them a lasting impression of yours! This could help you deal with your cousin's lie!
- Requires the Rat Raiders already know about the player's heritage.
- Increases Rat Reputation by 11% and adjusts Alignment to nice
- +Not Enemies+ - Your cousin sicced these rats on you with a few easy lies. Now it's time to turn the tables with a hard-won truth.
- Requires Rat Reputation to be at 100
- Player befriends the rats and gains a number of bonuses.
- Punish Them - Thieves will get what's coming to them one way or another. Punish them bad rats!
- Requires the PC got robbed by Plunder Over Pillage' and to win the fight after the marked rat flees with the loot.
- Decreases Rat Reputation by 8% and adjusts Alignment towards hard assuming they aren't already on good terms with the PC.
- Deal With It - Screw it, just take your reward and move on. There's always next time…
- Requires the PC got robbed by Plunder Over Pillage' and to win the fight after the marked rat flees with the loot.
- Leave - Take your reward and move on.
- The player steals a large sum of money from the Raiders.
- Requires the PC got robbed by Plunder Over Pillage'
- Decreases Rat Reputation based on current threshold
Win Sex
- Triple Service - If the little rats want some treasure, they can work for it.
- Must not have been robbed
- Requires Penis or Vagina. Supports All body types. Supports up to three dicks (for three rats!). Rats reference all cum flavors, and will offer to use their Tails if the PC chooses to get their Vagina licked.
- Fuck Them - Put the thieving mice on all fours and fuck them from behind!
- Doggystyle - Line the rats up on all fours, inspect the goods, and see which one's worth a ride.
- You can fuck any of the available Raiders once in any order, however to fuck them all requires high libido and energy. Any rat can also be fucked twice in a row, though this ends the encounter.
- Requires a penis or a Hardlight strap-on
- Stack 'Em - You've got three well-endowed dicks. There are at least three / four holes available to you between each mouse. If you're feeling creative… you could stack the rats on top of each other and take 'em all at once!
- Requires at least 3 cocks with each one being at least 13 inches.
- Requires a penis
- Must not be a taur
- Doggystyle - Line the rats up on all fours, inspect the goods, and see which one's worth a ride.
- Ride Him/Them - Take the mouse boy(s) for a ride and let (him/them) have a chance to please you. What better way to receive an apology?
- Must be biped
- Ear Sex - Rodenians breed with their ears; two vaginas lead down the back of their skulls through their large ears. You're gonna fuck that, right? You know you want to.
- PC must have read the Rodenian Codex and have a penis.
- Must not be a taur
- During this scene the Rodenian Female will become hypnotized and the player can choose four options that influence her mental state and change the dynamics to Ear Sex. Both Light Pink- and White-furred Rodenians are tracked separately. Using Gentle and Assert twice in a row changes the psionic fantasy. Neutral only has one variant, and Horny has two, but only Bimbos/Bros can see the alternative.
- Gentle - Be really, really nice to her. She obviously loves what's going on, and she might appreciate a little kindness!
- Assert - Treat her like your favorite pet and make her experience pleasure just from seeing you happy.
- Horny - You could make her love sex more than any pleasure slave on this station, make her cum buckets from seeing any dick hard!
- Neutral - While there's a few things you could say to make this better, you can just leave her mental state mostly alone and focus on sex.
Trivia
- Despite the name 'Rat's Raiders', their appearances are more befitting of mice.
- There is a 10% chance that on repeat encounters the thieves will be singing the Rats; We're Rats; We're the Rats song.
- On Silly Mode, there is a chance on repeat encounters they will arrive on motorcycles, a reference to the Biker Mice from Mars.
- On Silly Mode, a repeat encounter blurb has someone resembling the lead singer of Ghost, Cardinal Copia, appearing, singing, and dancing in a reference to the song Rats, performed by the band.
