Appearance

As the people draw closer, the first thing that you notice about is that they're... well, giant. Anywhere between four and a half to five and a half yards tall, the group of eight quickly draws into view even at a distance, men and women alike; their prodigious stature announcing their presence to all around, so it's little wonder they don't bother with stealth. Patchwork tribalwear of sealskins and bear hides adorns their bodies, the pelt of one single animal clearly not enough to clothe any of them alone; their cobalt blue skins, wine-red eyes and shaggy hair colored from black to light grey and every shade between. Given how much skin they're showing, they must not mind the cold very much.

First Encounter

While crossing an ice shelf, a companion will call the Champion's attention and point off to the side, else the Champion will feel a sense of discomfiture and stop. Off into the distance is a pack of 8 giants crossing the ice in the Champion's direction, and they've clearly noticed them at this point. A man and woman detach from the group and continue approaching the Champion, if Champion is an Elf, the jotun will declare that the Champion does not belong in their lands and demand that they leave, parley is impossible due to long history of the jotuns and the elves of Winter City. The jotun declare that if the Champion won't leave, they will make them leave, and a fight begins.

If the Champion is not an elf, the jotun will state that the Champion should turn back and leave before they freeze and become food for the fishes. The Champion replies that they have business to deal with the corruption in these lands, if Etheryn is present, the jotun become angry and retort the hypocrisy of the Champion for intending to fight the corruption when they bring the corruption with them, the Champion and Etheryn attempt to correct the misunderstanding, but the pair refuse to listen and a fight begins. If Etheryn is not present, the jotun will ask if the Champion is here to fight the elves, to which they attempt to correct and point towards the members of the Demon Cult. They snort at the description of the cultists, claiming that no one would be foolish enough to dress like that in these lands, then she notes the smell of the elves on the Champion and accuses them of being a spy for the elves, to which they ready their weapons and move in for a fight.

This will also unlock the Jotuns codex entry if it wasn't already.

Victory

Defeating the jotun will have the pair be knocked off their feet, and the other six jotun are either too shocked or too scared, that they do not approach the Champion. If Arona is present, she will comment that the fight was quite the workout, and state that it's satisfying to beat the shit out of someone twice her height. The Champion will address the other six jotun, stating that they better not try something stupid, to which they will approach, but just to recover their defeated tribeskin and place them on their sleds, before making a hasty retreat. Before they disappear, a jotun will proclaim that this won't end here, and that Chieftain Randaver will hear of this. If the Champion had defeated Sigrune, they will remember that she said she was the daughter of Randaver, and wish that they could have a sit down and talk with her about her people. Arona will proceed to taunt the fleeing jotuns. If Etheryn is present, she will lament at this difficult diplomatic situation on her hands, and that Alissa had never told her about it.

Defeat

If the Champion is defeated by the jotuns, they state that this defeat will serve as a lesson for the Champion, that they should run from this place and never return, that the rift of sea and ice belong to the jotun, who have lived here since the beginning of time and not the elves. Before leaving, the female jotun states that they are merciful, but other may not be, and that the time of peace and tolerance for the intolerance has passed, as Chieftain Randaver cares not for the elves and elf-friends that will perish from their foolishness. If the Champion had defeated Sigrune, they will remember that she said she was the daughter of Randaver, and wish that they could have a sit down and talk with her about her people. If Arona is present, she will pick herself up and comment that although they didn't win, it was a damned good fight, but huff that the jotun aren't stronger than her, they just have the home turf advantage. If Etheryn is present, she will lament at this difficult diplomatic situation on her hands, and that Alissa had never told her about it.

Subsequent Encounters

Subsequent encounters with the jotuns will have the Champion make their way across the ice, and realize too late a pair of jotun gathering food. The jotun are shocked at first, but it quickly turns to anger as they drop what they're doing and pick up their clubs and move in for a fight. If Etheryn is present, she will sigh, and comment that her family has a knack for making enemies of all stripes.

If the Champion is defeated by the jotun, the male jotun will rumble that the Champion was warned not to return, and that they will be forced to teach them a lesson, to which the female jotun adds; through ritual humiliation. (see defeat sex scenes)

Defeating the jotun will have them crumple to their knees, as they state they yield. With that, the following options will become available (see fuck options and requirements in sex section):

  • Talk - Just what is going on, anyway? What do the ice giants have against elves?
  • Pick-Up BJ - Have the giantess suck you off — by picking you up and lifting you to her face.
  • Muscle Worship - Get some of the giant's powerful body and massive abs. He's such a hunk... you want to rub not just your hands, but your entire body all over him. He's large enough for it, after all.
  • Take Cock
  • Leave - These giants hold no appeal for you. Just go.

Talk

Curious about the animosity between the pale elves and the jotuns, the Champion will ask the jotun pair about it. If Etheryn is present, the jotun female glowers, stating that they should ask the pale elf that's with them. Etheryn for her part is clueless, having rarely left the palace and never beyond the walls of the Winter City, and she asks the jotuns to tell her their grievances against her people so that she may set them right. If not, if the Champion is an Elf, the female jotun will roar, asking them how could they not know if they're an elf. If the Champion is a Wyld Elf, they will state that they are one, and not a pale elf, else if the Champion is a Pale Elf, they will explain that they were not born as one. Regardless of their specific elf race, the Champion explains that they have no reason to be in the know in regards to the shenanigans that the jotuns have with the pale elves in the Glacial Rift. Else, if Etheryn is not present and the Champion is not an elf, the jotuns continue to accuse the Champion of being a spy for the elves, especially since they stink of elf spoor, to which the Champion explains that although they know a number of pale elves on a personal level, they have not heard the story from them.

Regardless of it all, the jotuns sit down and agree to tell the story. The jotun female explains that since the beginning, the rift has been divided between the four races: the jotuns, selkies, siorcanna, and avanai. Two and a half centuries ago the pale elves came from the south, bringing word that a great darkness was coming and that they offered their protection. Some of the four races joined the elves, few even joined the valkyries, and eventually there was a great darkness that reached the rift, in which the elves did protect the races of the rift, however, that was long ago, and the elves serve no purpose in the rift and have over stayed their welcome, especially when the elven foundries sift water and dump slag into the ice without care for the residents of the rift. If Etheryn is present, she will state that the jotun female is not wrong, that the elves have been sluicing the glacial streams for minerals instead of mining it from under the Frostwood. However, unlike the siorcanna and selkies who can drink seawater, the jotuns and avanai are forced to go higher and higher to find water not tainted by mining waste. Etheryn begins to speak but is stopped by the Champion, understanding that a deep-rooted problem cannot be resolved with platitudes and promises. Else, the jotun male states that the residents of the rift will unite and drive away the elves and their goddess. The Champion explains that Winter City has a new ruler now, and proposes that a peaceful solution could be brought forward, however, they are interrupted by the jotun, stating that new queen will still receive orders from their goddess, and since the goddess is not moving, nothing can be done. Regardless, the Champion cannot stop the Grand Alliance that will drive the elves and their goddess from the rift, and then the jotuns depart. If Etheryn is present, she will be angry, as she believed the methods and devices funded by her grandmother in sluicing the rivers in the rift were more humane and efficient, but now, she's beginning to understand why her sister hated her so deeply; to go from a carefree life of drinking and partying to deal with things like this. The Champion attempts to console her, stating that it's not Etheryn's fault, that the crown is a heavy burden for those what wear it, and that her sister should have known its responsibilities and have prepared herself accordingly. There must be some way for things to work out, and the Champion will help Etheryn find it. Etheryn isn't completely convinced by their words, but she nods and agrees, stating: "We'll just have to see what has to be done, won't we? I've uncovered my sister's corruption and driven two demons from the Winter City. What's brokering peace with the jotuns on top of that?"
