Vulperine Hunters

The Vulperine Hunters are a group of generic vulperines that roam all zones of the Windy Peaks. When encountered by the champion, they ask for the champion’s bloodline. Their behavior towards the champion varies by champion's race, and their composition changes in response to previous encounters. The champion must defeat them during the events of Crystal Clear.

Appearance
As you make your way along the snow-dusted mountainside, a trio of huskily-figured, shaggily-furred shapes comes around the next bend down the mountain pass. At first you think them lupines — they're about the right height for it, plus the well-muscled canid body shape — but soon realize that their fur's sleeker and more blue than grey, their muscles more wiry than bulky. That, plus the fact that their ears are smaller and rounder and muzzles flatter, quickly lead you to decide against that conclusion. A trio of vulperines, then, but more acclimatized to the cold and height with all that follows, as opposed to their warmer-weather cousins. These guys may look primitive, clad in hides and furs while wielding heavy stone clubs and axes, but that doesn't make them any less of a potential threat.

Appearance
It's a familiar sight to you at this point: what isn't, though, is the woman leading them. She's no less muscular, but said muscles serve as a solid structure for supporting her considerably more curvaceous body. This is someone who although no less physically fit than her peers, clearly eats a lot better to have so much extra meat.
That's not to mention the adornments: mostly of carved ivory and bone, they blend in well with her fur, but there are a couple gaudy pieces that might've come from the local harpies or from within the mountain, gold and silver that really stand out. Some symbol of rank or office would be your best guess, although you're no expert in the anthropology of boreal vulperines.

While traveling the peaks, the champion notices a trio of vulperines, first thinking them lupines. They look to be hardy hunters, and are unavoidable on the narrow mountain trails. After a moment of tension, one of them asks for the champion's bloodline--or a fight.
With that, the following options become available:

They were apparently hunting not only for food, but mates, and given that the champion is a non-local canid, they're fair game.

While traveling the peaks, the champion notices a trio of vulperines, first thinking them lupines. They look to be hardy hunters, and are unavoidable on the narrow mountain trails. After a moment of tension, the hunters realize the champion's race and assume they are a neighbor, then engage the champion in friendly chit-chat.
If a harpy champion has any companions, a hunter asks them if they're bringing folks up to the baths for some fun, and the champion plays along. The hunter asks that they bring the people back more or less intact, to prevent swarms of search parties on the Peaks.
If a harpy does not have companions, a hunter remarks that it's too windy to fly, and the champion plays along. The hunter will joke that Sorra isn't throwing the harpies a bone--but that she's the goddess of freedom, and does what she wants.

The champion then asks if the vulperines are interested in anything in particular, which leads to a scene of gossip, with a chance of the following topics.

| Khor'minos | One of the hunters asks if the champion knows why the minotaurs haven't been to the Peaks for trade lately, and the champion tells them about the ongoing siege. The vulperines listen raptly, before remarking that if the minotaurs can't do anything, there's nothing they could do either, so there's no point worrying. |
First Empath Encounter
If the champion has defeated the Vulperine Hunters at least three times in a row(no defeat or surrender), they may encounter the Vulperine Empath along with the three hunters. After encountering her once, the champion has a permanent chance of encountering her again.
The champion notices a curvaceous woman has joined the hunting party, whose well-fed body and many adornments suggest she has some sort of higher rank or office within the tribe. She says she's with the group because they need more firepower and acts as the group's leader, asking the champion for their bloodline.
With that, the following options become available:

Subsequent Encounters
In subsequent encounters with the Vulperine Hunters, the champion recognizes yet another of the hunting parties and considers that it's not strange, perhaps, to run into others on the Peaks' few trails.
The champion takes note of the hunters' game, and after a moment of tension, the scene and options proceed as during the first encounter.

The champion notes that the group is led by a curvaceous woman, as well as the hunters' game. After a moment of tension, the scene and options proceed as during the first base encounter.
Other Encounters
During the events of Crystal Clear, Kailani asks the champion to defeat fifteen Vulperine Hunters to prove their martial skill.
When harpy or manticore champions encounter the hunters during this quest, the hunting party recognizes them based on Kailani's description and engages them in combat. A hunter remarks that although the decision to join Kailani is foolish, not brave, they will help her test the champion.
There is no surrender option, and the scene does not change when the empath is present. See Victory Options and Defeat Sex Scenes.

Victory Sex Options
The champion whirls around, looking for the next combatant, then realize they were victorious. They notice that the vulperines, although defeated, are perhaps even more aroused; the champion wonders if their libidos were always this high, or if it's related to the demonic incursion in the Undermountain. If the empath is present, the champion notes she is on the verge of pleasuring herself.
With that, it's up to the champion to decide what to do with the hunting party.
