History

Pre-Champion


The coast was ravaged by the Godswar. The wreckage of that conflict still litters the beach. I fear they may be interested in some leftover from Old Belhar, a weapon or magic. There is an ancient golem that patrols the cove, larger than most castles, and the lair of an old dragon that no one has managed to breach for centuries. Any of these, or gods-know what might be worse out there. Whatever their objective, they must be stopped.

Tollus... I can imagine he's after something from Estelore. The remains of that blighted realm washed up along the coast centuries ago. I believe he's had an... acute interest in the place for a long time now.

The Siege of Khor'minos


When the war began, the Crown Prince devised a strategy to save the citizens at the expense of the territory. King Kelsaz ordered the provinces evacuated, and so our town, like most others, is now empty and abandoned. Surrendered to the enemy without a fight, while we all cower behind the only walls strong enough to break our enemies again. The Navy reports seeing throngs of demons on the coast near the old port, looting what they please and using my family's estate as a command post to coordinate their raids upriver. So: badly, yes.

While the quote above is about Khor'terion, a town in the Foothills that during the time of the Belharan Empire was a prosperous port that saw commerce across the Sapphire Sea, the order also applies to any settlement of Khor'minos that see the sun.

Post-Siege


While you were assailing the demons' fortress, there was an attack against what remains of our forces on the east coast. Cultists, not demons, attempted to steal a warship moored in Saltmantle Cove. It would have been the third ship we'd lost in the region since the war began; the first two disappeared without a trace, with no sign of what became of the crew or vessel. This time, the crew was ready: they fought the cultists off, but were in no position to pursue their attackers — the bastards decided they'd rather burn the ship than simply abandon their attack. [...] There's been an explosion of activity in the area, too brazen to be random acts of chaos; the cult is up to something out there.

Geography & Points of Interest

The view from here is breathtaking: the Sea of Sapphires meets the chalk-white cliffs of the eastern Hornpeaks, and stretches out into the distance. You can see the faintest suggestion of islands beyond the coast, the furthest edge of the Sailgrave Archipelago. Beneath you are the outskirts of eastern Khor'minos, a small villa half-protected by the stone with a waterfront view.

The Sea of Sapphires also goes by the name, the Sapphire Sea.

Eltha Villas


COME IN FRIENDSHIP TO ELTHA VILLAS, THE SEA VIEW FROM THE STONE.

Currently, as of version 0.9.1, the only notable information about these villas is that the streets contain no signs of life or activity, save for a single half-lit estate, the largest, at the end of the street. A guard, wearing the uniform of the Khor'minos Chargers is posted at the door. This location is still regarded as the outskirts of Khor'minos.

In the middle of the street is a statue of a minotaur man in a toga holding a pair of scales. Atop the scales lies a blue Waystone. A scant few people, servants, can be seen scurrying from the estate.

Zone 1: Highcliff Road


Over hundreds upon hundreds of yards, the road descends slow and sure towards the shore.

Old Lighthouse


Estelore and Khor'minos worked together on this. The minoan engineers couldn't find a suitable place to situate the lighthouse just where the Belharans wanted, so a gaggle of mages were summoned from the academy. They supposedly cut open the earth and thrust out a spire of stable rock from deep within... and doesn't that match up with what we're seeing now?

Encounters

In an explorable combat area, certain parts of the map are undiscovered. To unlock the path towards an unconnected/greyed-out path, the Champion will need to first Explore the area before it, for the chance to unlock the path towards it. There exist three different roaming encounter types that the Champion may stumble across: Combat, Other, and Priority (usually pregnancy & seasonal events).

When the Champion enters a new tile or Explores, it will roll all possible encounters, while Pick Fight will only roll Combat encounters.
