Description

This frost-crusted spellbook was carried to the Marches by a young Mallachite mendicant in the aftermath of the Godswar. She came to the cold north with a heart full of desert fire, intending to spread hope and joy through a land devastated by horrific war. The cold, dark forest proved an unrelenting adversary as she tended to the scattered beastfolk tribes still eeking out an existence there, until the day she found a bastion of welcoming warmth hidden in the forest that drew her in and never let her go.

Rimebound Grimoire acquisition for Cait:

• If the Rimebound Grimoire key item, which is purchased from Senja, is:
  • Given to Cait and told Go For It, the following will be gained:
    • Raise Champion Corruption by (+2)
    • Gain Powers: Celestial Frost & Rime Veil
    • Cait's Companion Set: Frostheart Set
    • The Rimebound Grimoire (waist) will be applied to All of Cait's Companion Sets
  • Given to Cait and told Don't Risk It, and then given to Barney under Frost Grimoire?, the following will be gained:
    • (+3000) EC
    • The Ring of Warmth will be applied to All of Cait's Companion Sets

Rimescore Upgrade for Cait:

• The Rimescore can be obtained during the events of Howling in the Dark at the Ancient Fane if the Champion has the Spellsinger/Electrum Flute key item. Breaking the connection of the Rimescore to Asegir will give the Champion the option to Destroy or Keep it.
  • Yourself - If the Champion keeps it, it will be permanently shaped into one of its three forms (of their choosing): Polar Edge, Glacial Spike, or Hoarfrost.
    • Raises Corruption by (+30) ^{(until 75)} .
  • Drifa - Must be present in the party. This will change her combat behavior; from a Level 5 White Mage to a Level 7 Black Mage equipped with the Rimescore itself.
    • Raises Drifa's Corruption by (+70).
  • Cait - Must be present in the party and has the Frostheart Set unlocked. Provides additional frost damage and stats of most of Cait's sets (see Staff and Rimebound Grimoire).
    • Cait gains no corruption from this.
