Description

The pride and joy of the Order of the Oriflamme — or rather, it was. Casual inspection suggests that it's little more than an elaborate sword hilt with far too much gilding, but upon activation by the wielder a blade of burning, blood-red light bursts forth from the guard, dripping malice and capable of cleaving through metal with ease. Guard and pommel alike gleam with an unnatural, menacing light; the sword itself has undoubtedly developed a taste for blood.

Holding it, the sensation emanating from the weapon is palpable: the desire for strength, battle and power. Might makes right in this world, and one should not be so squeamish as to acknowledge that truth and exploit it.

Special Effect: When wielded, this weapon grants the Sword Soul ability.

Conditions

The Champion must have the Dark Knight (Corruption 75+) personality to equip the sword.

Special Effect

Allows the Champion to equip and use the Encounter power, Sword Soul. The item must be equipped for the Champion to use the power.

Acquisition

Obtained when a Dark Knight Champion takes the Dawnsword, instead of Liaden, to finish off the Incubus Blackguard during the events of High Ground.

Usage

While the Dawnsword or Corrupted Dawnsword is equipped or in inventory, there are instances where specific mentions of the sword is used:

  • The Champion executing Queen Alissa during the events of The Demon of Ice (equipped)
  • Mentioned by Drifa, if present in the party, during the events of Howling in the Dark
  • Dawnsword only:
    • Special mention when:
    • Can be returned to Lumia at the Palace of Light, in exchange for the Guldring (Dark Knight only)
    • The Dawnsword gains +5 damage to the [Icon-OF-Pos.pngWeapon BuffCombat EffectPrimary Weapon deals an additional XNote: Additional Weapon Buff effects will "stack"
      (i.e. the new effect will fall under one weapon buff, but its damage and individual duration is separate)Duration: X      ]       granted by the power Dawnbreak
    • When Aurora of Vigor is cast, the wielder deals an additional (+10) Holy damage for 2 turns (equipped)
  • Corrupted Dawnsword only:
