Gytha is a female boreal elf who guards the Gates of Winter that leads to The Winter City. She is accompanied by her war-mount and companion, Demon's Shadow. Begin entrusted by Queen Alissa as the gate keeper, she was spared from the worst of the corruption that overtook Alissa and her "inner circle?".

She's had the honor of serving Alissa when they were both of young age, as grew to be very loyal to her. Gytha was chosen as Alissa's hunting partner because Queen Alraince had forced her to take at least one hunting partner because Alissa hated the adult hunters that belittled her, and Gytha confesses that she doesn't know why Alissa had chosen her. The two grew to become close, as when Queen Alraince had passed, Queen Alissa would sometimes use to the excuse of hunting to confide her griefs and grievances to Gytha. She had made a promise to Alissa that she would be by her side no matter what, and her loyalty and duty is what drives her to always see the best in Alissa.

Appearance

The woman is a boreal elf with a long, aureate ponytail that flows up to her lower back and wiggles every time she moves her head. First Encounter

When the Champion makes their way to the Winter City for the first time, as they are nearing the bridge, a woman on a black warg-mount rushes towards them. She announces her full name, and that by the order of the Queen, the city gates are sealed and none shall pass while she yet lives. With that, she commands her warg to charge the Champion and a fight begins.

If the Champion is defeated, one of the defeat sex scenes will occur. If they are instead victorious, the following options will become available. Additionally, if Etheryn is present, she comments that she recognizes Gytha as one of Alissa's hunting partners.

The Champion has some questions for Gytha, firstly, they ask if they've seen the demon Kasyrra. Confused, Gytha answers that the only demon she knows is her warg, although the queen has been fucking like a succubus. The palace has become a nonstop orgy ever since the queen's new stud show up, and everyone's been fucking nonstop whether they want to or not. If Etheryn is present, she asks if Alissa went crazy without her there - Gytha answers that Alissa got real mad until she found herself a new beau; else, when asked how it came to that - Gytha answers that ever since the Duchess of the Rim ran off, Queen Alissa went crazy until she found a new beau.

With Kasyrra's words in mind, the Champion comments that they need to find the queen. Gytha answers that the whole castle is locked down, and while they've gotten past her, there is a full company of the queen's best warriors guarding the door. The Champion notes that they'll just need to find another way in.

Subsequent Encounters

While the Palace of Ice has not been cleared, Gytha will follow her orders to prevent anyone from crossing the bridge, even if the Champion has defeated her already.

The same victory options and defeat scenes apply.

Post-Palace of Ice

First Encounter

Once the Winter City has been cleared, but while the Champion has yet to depart for Dracia during the events of The Demon of Ice, there is a chance to encounter Gytha again in any zone of the Frostwood.

Upon returning to the Frostwood, the Champion will hear the sound of a long howl. Turning to the sound reveals Gytha atop her warg, she calls them to stop and to sheathe their weapons as she's been waiting to talk to them. She takes a deep breath and asks where Queen Alissa went, as she knows they're the only one with the answer. When the Champion comments that they hope she isn't thinking of following her, Gytha gives a nonchalant answer and presses the Champion for their answer.

The Champion only offers Gytha silence, to which she answers that she'll find the Queen herself, and storms off a top her warg.

Etheryn trembles at her sister's name, but remains silent, avoiding Gytha's gaze; giving her all the answers she's going to get. Indignantly, Gytha answers that she'll find the Queen herself, and storms off a top her warg.

Subsequent Encounters

Subsequent encounters with Gytha will have the Champion note paw prints engraved in the snow. Recognizing it to be a warg's, they assume that Gytha is nearby and considering she's not hiding her tracks, they can assume that it's an invitation. With that, the Champion has the following options:

Holding her lance, she asks the Champion what they want, and she cautions them that she'll fight to protect her name.

When asked shouldn't she be guarding the gates, Gytha answers that she used to be, and because she failed her queen, Alissa was forced to temporarily abandon her royal duties. Her loyalty to Queen Alissa is something the city guard of the Winter City consider a bother. While she does acknowledge Etheryn as regent and would fight to protect her and the city from any danger, she does not acknowledge Etheryn as queen, and she will follow Alissa when she returns even if it goes against Etheryn's wishes - as it is her duty to serve the queen and not the regent. If present, Etheryn will ask even if it is a queen who has turned against her people, to which Gytha answers that it is not her place to judge, that she is still the queen nonetheless even if the whole city has judged her. Etheryn then asks if the city guard shares her view, Gytha replies that they don't, but states that they are wrong as they don't know the queen. A High Confidence Etheryn will answer that she knows her sister quite a bit, too well even - Gytha can only answer that it was only the worst side of her.

When asked on what she thinks about Alissa, Gytha answers that she is no position of judge the queen, but she's had the honor of serving her since they were both of young age. Alissa had loved hunting, but hated being alongside the adults as they belittled her and didn't treat her like a fellow hunter. Queen Alraince required Alissa to bring at least one hunting partner, so she chose Gytha. She is pretty proud of it, but she still fails to understand why she was chosen, as they had only met once before when Gytha had been training Demon's Shadow for the day she would apply for the city guard. Alissa didn't introduce herself and only asked if Gytha wanted to hunt, to which she answered that she did. By the time of Queen Alraince's death, Gytha had become Alissa's trusted hunting partner, to which Alissa would express her griefs and complaints to. While she does not support everything Alissa has done, she can say that she supports her queen with her honor and very soul.

The Champion asks if Gytha is aware that Alissa had bankrupted the city, handing it over to Kasyrra, and that she became a demon herself. Gytha stutters, answering that she is now aware of it, but it doesn't change anything.

Etheryn lowers her heads and hugs her bow as Gytha's fierce stare searches Etheryn. Dracia Confrontation

The following conditions are required for the Champion to encounter Gytha just as she has found out where Queen Alissa had went.

If all conditions are met, the next time the Champion encounters Gytha, she will run into them as she had been rushing to Dracia. When she sees the Champion, she stops and states that fate must really love making them meet on the road, but she does not have time to spare and asks them to move aside. When asked if she was making her way to Alissa, she answers that she had stated that she would fine her herself.

The Champion suggests that Gytha reconsider what she's doing as Alissa isn't the same anymore, that she's only dooming herself. Gytha answers that she'll doom herself to the guilt if she doesn't even try, she has chosen her way and will fight to defend her choice.

Etheryn genuinely asks why Gytha would go so far for Alissa, to which Gytha answers with pride that it is her duty to, and because she wants to. She once promised Alissa that she would be by her side no matter what, and she intends to fulfill that promise. She wants to try to guide her to the right path, even if she fails. When asked even if she knows that it's impossible task, Gytha firmly answers that she has made her choice and is willing to fight for it.

Etheryn states that loyalty will not protect her from the corruption that has take Alissa, and that it will only lead her down the same path. Gytha answers back that no danger can stop hre form going, even if trying to help her is all she can do. This is what she's chosen, and she is willing to fight to defend her choice.

With that, the following options will become available:

With Gytha defeat, the last thing she does before falling unconscious is to mumble Alissa's name. Convinced that the only solution in dealing with Gytha is to imprison her at the Wayfort until Alissa has been dealt with, the Champion hauls her with Demon's Shadow following along.

The Champion will hand Gytha over to Daliza, who thanks them for their actions as losing one of their finest hunters to Alissa would have been a terrible blow to them. She's sure that when everything is said and done, Gytha will thank the Champion for saving her from herself. She calls upon some of the rangers to drag her to the dungeons below, reassuring the Champion that they'll take good care of her until the Dracia mission is resolved.

The Champion tosses Gytha into one of the cells beneath the fort and tasks some of the hornets to look after her until their business on Dracia is settled.

Additionally, if Etheryn is present, she favors the Champion with a smile as she states that they did good. She gains a (+10) to her Confidence.

With the Champion defeated, she bites her lower lip and a blush beings to form on her face, however, she restrains herself as she doesn't have the time for such things. She forces herself to look away from the Champion, and quickly departs towards Dracia. Additionally, if Etheryn is present, she will suffer a (-10) to her Confidence.

A Demon or Imprisonment

Gytha's fate will take a drastic turn post-Palace of Ice, and it is dependent on whether or not the Champion was able to stop Gytha from returning to Alissa's side during the events of The Demon of Ice.

Dracia

If the Champion was unable to stop Gytha, or missed her entirely, she will make her reappearance defending the palace gates of Castle Dracia against the Champion. TODO
