Demon Cultists

The Demon Cultists are a generic group of the Demon Cult cultists, containing a random mix of 1-2 Cultist Barghests, Cultist Psions, and Cultist Temptresses, but only 1 Cultist Demontaur. These groups of cultists are the fodder and rabble of Master Tollus' cult that have accepted Kasyrra's gifts; tasked with spreading the Gray Goo of the Lureling at the Glacial Rift, only to be stuck waiting in the Windy Peaks at the conflicting orders of Kasyrra - whom stated that she already has her hands full in the Undermountain and has asked them to be in reserve at the peaks, to test the Champion if they still stand while they're there, while Tollus has taken only those loyal to him towards this plans in the Coastlands.

Glacial Rift

While travelling through the rift, the sound of discordant voices interrupts the Champion's journey. Laying low and investigating the source, the Champion is greeted to the sight of cultists, much like the cultists they had encountered the moment they arrived in the rift. These cultists are moving a wooden sled loaded with barrels of Gray Goo through the ice and snow with the intention of dumping it to the four corners of the rift. If present, Quintillus or Cait will break from cover, determined to do something about the cultists, regardless if present or not, one of the members spots the Champion and alerts the rest of the group. The demontaurs pulling the sled make haste towards their destination while the rest of the cultists attempt to stall the Champion.

Stumbling upon yet another group of cultists, they immediately draw their weapons and charge towards the Champion as soon as they're spotted. Much like the first encounter, Quintillus or Cait (only one of the two) will have a say; Quintillus commenting that they're fanatics - the most useful and most dispensable, that back in his day, half could barely do anything - while Cait comments with anger, about them not getting away, not with everything the cult has done.

There are 6 different random variations that can occur when interrogating the cultists:

• On the location of Master Tollus, they hint towards his location at the Abyssal Depths (if completed Harboring a Fugitive), or to not even being in the rift (not completed).
• In regards to the contents of the barrel, it's a gray goo from a thing called the Lureling, and while only Tollus and his closest confidants have seen it, they are tasked with spreading the goo it makes from its body.
• On the location of Kasyrra, they answer she briefly came to the rift and talked to Tollus and a few others, but left towards the southeast - in the direction of Khor'minos, Windy Peaks, and the Coastlands.
• In regards to the Valkyries, the cultists comment that they haven't touched the cult and have simply kept to their keep in the east. The Champion questions the oddity in their inactivity, to which one of them answers that the valkyries haven't done anything real for real for over two hundred years.
• Commenting on members of the cult accepting the ticket to demonhood, the Champion asks if Tollus has done the same. They answer that while Master Tollus has begun the process, he has willingly chosen to delay his ascendance to help others along the same path.
• In regards to the orders of lugging the barrels, while they are supposed to find a nice spot like stream and open pools to dump the contents, they simply dump it anywhere as its still gets the job done, especially since they're immune to the goo's effects due to Kasyrra's gifts.

Regardless of what information the Champion obtains, if present, they will ask Quintillus if he thinks the cultists were lying. He coments that they're probably telling the truth since lying would be pointless as there's nothing the Champion can do to get ahead.

Winter Wolf

The Demon Cultists appear multiple times, during the Distraction option on the cultist camp raid and in most of the combat encounters in the Abyssal Depths. Once the Champion has cleared the Abyssal Depths, the Demon Cultists will stop appearing in the Glacial Rift, and move their operations to the Windy Peaks.

Windy Peaks

Travelling through the peaks, the Champion hears the sound of a harpy squawking in pleasure (a common noise in the peaks), but also a familiar inhuman voice. Quietly investigating, they see a cultist psion being ridden by one of the harpies while her sisters cheer her on. A few seconds later, the psion cums and the harpies tease the quickshot, kicking the demon in the side and take flight. Like the encounters in the rift, Quintillus or Cait will have a say; Quintillus commenting on trouble always following the cult, with Cait commenting that the harpies have everything under control. With the groaning cultist left alone, trying to pick himself up and crawl to shelter, the Champion has the following options:

The cultist laments as the sight of the Champion quickly closing in on him. They assure him that that no harm will come to him if he answers their questions, the first being what the cultists are doing in the peaks. He relents and answers that it's actually nothing, that Master Tollus had ordered them to assist the Dark Lady with her business in the Undermountain, but she herself asked them to stay in the peaks as reserves as she had enough hands. They are simply waiting and doing nothing - no barrels of goo, no mischiefs at all. The Champion mentally notes that Kasyrra is distrustful of anyone and anything that Tollus sends her.

In regards to Tollus' location, he's headed for the Coastlands, but didn't tell them why. If present, Quintillus supplements that the demon is probably telling the truth as outlined in his notes, so he's surrounding himself with people loyal to him not Kasyrra, or Cait supplementing that if she were a miserable and jealous creature like Tollus, she'd be planning to overthrow her so-called mistress.

Last but not least, with these cultists cast-off from Tollus, they ask if the cultists will still get in their way in the peaks. He answers that the Dark Lady's orders were to test the Champion, she wants them stronger and they can't and won't disobey her.

Similar to subsequent encounters in the rift, the Champion will stumble upon a band of cultists, and as soon as they spot each other, the cultists charge towards them.

Unlike in the rift, victories will go directly to Victory Sex Options (same as rift scenes).

At their head are two large demontaurs, pulling the sled — they might have been centaurs once, but are now almost unrecognisable as such. Two large curled horns sprout from each of their brows, and their horse bodies have become coated with thick purple hide and scales, resembling dragons more than anything. Even though it's less drastic, their human bodies haven't escaped transformation either, some smaller scales pock-marking their skin, which perhaps shouldn't be that shade of purplish-red...

So these are demon centaurs, then, or at least ones that've gotten used to their form. There're supposed to be centaurs down in Harvest Valley... Tollus must be down there recruiting for his cult and sending them to other places around the Marches to do his bidding. While his underlings are present in the rift, he may not be here in person just yet.

His hooves are now more akin to hard, chitinous claws, and the entirety of his tauric body has sprouted thick, hand-sized scales; to be frank, at this point the animal half of him looks more dragon than horse, although horribly misshapen and lumpy compared to classical depictions of dragons. Swinging his glaive around, he points the blade down at you while you lie in the snow.

That, alas, is answered by one of their number — a tall and lanky incubus — pulling back the hood of his cloak and concentrating briefly. You feel a pulse of... of something wash over you, and then the demon spreads his wings and points unerringly in your direction.

Closing the last bit of distance to the demon cultist, you shove him back onto the snow and ice, his leathery, bat-like wings splaying outwards as he lands with a thump. Despite their voluminous nature, the hooded robes of his are simple to remove at a moment's notice, baring his leanly muscled body to the chill air — that, and his fully erect shaft, as red as the rest of him is and sticking straight up from his body.

[...] one of their number steps forward from the group, a handsome man — or he would be, if not for the demonic features he bears. Small horns, dark red bat-like wings with a leathery texture and amber slitted eyes complement his red skin — not too unlike Kasyrra's own shade of red, to be honest — and his body is leanly, but not bulkily muscled. Atop his brow, he's tattooed a gaudy symbol of an open eye, perhaps in an attempt to appear mystical and occult but ending up looking kind of tacky instead.
