The Effigies are the spawn of the Alraune and some other fortunate or unfortunate souls that appear in the Old Forest. First Encounter

While meandering through the forest, the Champion begins to notice a particularly sweet smell. Following the source, the Champion finds a trio of green-skinned women dancing through the trees. When they notice the Champion, one of them prances towards them, happy that new friends have come to play, and one of her identical sisters states to not let them escape. With that, a fight breaks out.

Subsequent Interactions

Subsequent encounters will have the Champion's forest trek be interrupted by a gust of potent aroma. Turning to face the source reveals a trio of green-hued plant girls stalking them through the underbrush.

If the Champion is at least level 3, the Effigy Pollinator will replace an Effigy.

Defeating the effigies in combat will result in the following options:

Having surrendered, the Champion will slowly approach the defeated trio, asking what they are; Champions with the Scholar or Hunter backgrounds will note that although they are reminded of dryads, the effigies aren't fey. The Effigy Archer will state that they are the daughters of the great mother Alraune and they're born to serve her. They go on to then ask where their mother is, which causes the trio to perk up as the archer speaks that if the Champion just wanted to visit their mother, they should have just bent over, as they take the best fertilizers back to her. Although, if the Champion wishes to visit her themselves, they can find her garden, which is on the river before the old stone bridge. They will then ask; why does their mother need so many daughters, to which the archer replies that their mother made a deal with winged grandmother, so that their mother can make enough daughters to take everyone in the village down south back home so that their mother can breed them all forever, just like grandmother wanted.

This will also advance In Her Footsteps to state 2.

If the Champion has a vagina, they can be impregnated by the effigies through the Tentacles sex option, and the GroupTentacles and Violation sex scenes. Note that the pregnancy can result in a single Effigy Seed if the seed is fertilized by anyone cumming into the Champion's vagina while they are under the effigy seed pregnancy. If fertilized, at the end of the pregnancy, the seed can be planted, which will have the Champion plant the seed outside of time, and it will almost immediately grow and leave without the Champion seeing it, or can be kept which adds the seed to their inventory that can be used in combat to summon an Effigy or sold to a merchant for 50 EC. If the seed is not fertilized, the lifeless husk will simply be discarded. Typical Pregnancy rules apply and more details can be found here.
