Instead of micromanaging a companion's equipment, companions have companion sets that will change their weapons and equipment, perks, primary stats, and powers. These sets can be found and changed at the Character section in the Journal while the desired companion is present in the party, this can also be done at almost anytime.

Clad in blessed bronze and bearing a shielding tome once wielded by a Mallachite paladin, Cait has the power and confidence to step up to the vanguard and lead her comrades on holy crusade. With this set, she's able to draw the ire of her enemies to herself, layer herself in protective magics, and can strike down those who would do her harm with Mallach's blinding light.
Walking Staff (primary)
Made of solid oak and bent into a circle at its tip, Cait's staff is a heavy implement of a long-wandering, road-weary traveler. Still, the heart-shaped ruby within its crown shines as brightly as the Jassiran sun. Her staff might be hefty, but it's sturdy enough to hit hard when she needs it, and long enough to give her some room between herself and would-be attackers.
Shielding Tome (offhand)
A blessed tome of Mallachite spellcraft, hardened by magic to be as hard as a shield in combat. This was carried by Ivris's father long ago, when he was a traveling friar of the Prince of Passion, and has now been handed down to Cait to help safeguard her as she defends Hawkethorne.
Vestal Raiments (armor)
A set of lightly-enchanted scale armor presented to Cait by Ogrish and Ivris, the town's premier craftsmen, to help her better stand in the vanguard of Hawkethorne's defense. Combined with her own holy vestments, this gear grants Cait a tremendous resistance to physical and magical harm.

One of her gloves has been replaced with a large falconry gauntlet, giving her the ability to call down and commune with her war-hawk.

This ensemble of forester's leathers, bow and quiver filled with poison-tipped arrows is the creation of several elder druids who worked to infuse their creation with the destructive facets of their faith. It focuses upon applying and manipulating poisons to bypass the defenses of agile but physically delicate foes by primarily targeting Physical Resistance instead of Evasion.
Silverthorn Bow (primary)
While pale elf bowyers favor whitewood when one wants to impress, wood from silverthorn saplings is favored for its suitability for shortbows. Bows crafted from silverthorn wood are powerful for their size, better suited to close quarters, and more easily concealed; what they lack in power compared to whitewood greatbows and longbows can be made up for with poison drawn from the silverthorn tree's flowers.
Special Effect: Basic attacks target Physical Resistance instead of Evasion and apply Poisoned for 2 turns on hit.
Druidic Leathers (armor)
Firm-fitting leathers with a cloak and headwrap for protection from the elements. Dyed all over in irregular patterns, the exact colors of the outfit shift to match the wearer's surroundings and provide effective camouflage in most temperate wildernesses. A fine work of druidic craftsmanship indeed, infused with enchantments to ward off most ills of the natural world and perfect for the outdoorsy type.

Much like the dorata of the southlands, this spear is made of ashwood and bronze, but unlike most southern spears, white-glowing Lumian runes are etched in the leaf-bladed head. When you get close to it, a feeling of quiet determination fills your entire being.
Valkyrie Queen's Shield (offhand)
Although the elaborate Lumian decorations on this large, round aspis make it look like a ceremonial piece at first glance, the enchantments that thrum within make it an excellent defense against many forms of corrupted magic.

A school of geomancy developed in Kitushon, kanso was intended for the beautification and spiritual defense of homes and fortifications, but the techniques developed have been adapted for personal defense. Focusing on simplicity and the flow of ki in a space, it seeks to divert malicious intents and energies around someone like a stream about a boulder rather than meet it head-on.
While defensive in nature, this set does not primarily seek to heal incurred damage, but prevent it from being inflicted in the first place through means of shields and damage mitigation.
