'''Followers''', or Camp Followers, are characters that can accompany the Champion throughout their adventures, but are mostly interacted with at the Champion's camp. Unlike companions, they offer limited to no combat support and rarely contribute dialogue to content that is not related to them. On the other hand, '''Character Items''' are those that travel with the Champion by occupying a slot in their inventory. Their main method of interaction is through the '''Use''' function in the Champion's inventory or while at camp. While similar to followers, there is a distinct enough difference to split the two.

Revision as of 10:58, 26 February 2025

Throughout the course of Corruption of Champions II, the PC will be able to recruit a variety of characters to help on his or her quest. While many of the people you find in the world can provide services or support for your mission, an elite handful may actually join the PC in the adventure themselves.

The Champion's party consists of themself, 2 companions, 1 guest, and 1 summon.

Companions

The finalized list of companions: Atugia, Agnimitra, Kiyoko, Arona, Etheryn, Cait, Brint, Azyrran, Viviane, Brienne, and Qintillus

the heights are roughly accurate, the widths are subject to image scaling

yeah that's are "we have two main artists, several different art styles over the years, and none of the original images are to scale"

Homurakko (2025)

nooooo there's a typo in that sentence

Homurakko (2025), in regards to comment 1

Changelog of when companions could be recruited:

  • 0.0.09 - Cait
  • 0.0.26 - Brint
  • 0.1.5 - Berwyn
  • 0.1.9 - Etheryn
  • 0.2.4 - Atugia
  • 0.2.9 - Brienne
  • 0.2.32 - Quintillus
  • 0.2.41 - Kiyoko
  • 0.3.10 - Arona
  • 0.3.25 - Azyrran
  • 0.4.24 - Agnimitra
  • 0.5.7 - Berwyn's removal as a companion (see note)
  • 0.5.21 - Viviane - the final companion

So, this patch includes a new dungeon for Berwyn which neatly ties off his arc and brings him more or less to a feature complete state with not just a lot of new content, but a lot of changes to him.

You’ve probably already noticed that while Berwyn always had a dearth of content outside himself compared to most of the cast, your dogboy companion has gotten little to no new support in quests and events over the last year. Berwyn’s original writer left the community some time ago, and I brought B! onboard to finish his character arc off with the aplomb only a writer of his caliber can. However, I made the decision that it would be unfair to burden another writer with an extra companion. Rather, we’ll be transitioning him into a normal NPC.

Asking B! to wrap up another writer’s biggest project is enough of a herculean task on its own — one which he stepped up to admirably, as you’ll soon see — but the decision to cut Berwyn’s Companion content was mine, and made from the beginning. As of this patch, Berwyn is no longer a companion. He is still around, and almost all of his old content is still accessible since he rarely interacted with things to begin with; you just can’t add him to your party anymore. This applies from the moment you beat Matiha in his first quest onwards.

The good news is, without having to worry about supporting him constantly on your adventures, this has given us the opportunity to really give Berwyn some incredible mutability; the kind that would be impossible to support long-term the way we do with Companion characters — Etheryn herself already stresses what we can and should do with a character you can bring with you. The art that comes with this post should give a clue as to what you can do with him (or not, if you like Berry just the way he is).

I know Berry has his fans, so for those of you who like the boi, I hope the quest and all the content it brings is a fitting consolation to not being able to bring him along on your adventures. There really is a ton of it. And for those of you not into big-dick femboys, the ending of this quest might just give you something to enjoy about Wynne too!

-Patch Notes for 0.5.7, (2022)

Companions are a core of the party system and are intended to travel and interact with the Champion throughout their adventures. As they travel with the Champion, they are meant to interact with the world, other characters, and with the other companions. In combat, they play a significant role, from healing, to damaging, to tanking, based on what their current companion set is. Regardless of the state the companions are in, if the Champion is defeated in combat, it will result in a combat loss. In normal cases, the Champion can only bring up to two companions at a time.

Only veteran writer were allowed to create companions, as they are a huge undertaking and must be accounted for in most, if not all new and existing content. To prevent significant back tracking for newly addded companions into old content, a submission deadline was set before Khor'minos proper could be entered. It should be noted that the submission for new companions has been closed since version 0.4.20 (November 1, 2021), and any conceptualized companions that were not approved before the deadline, will not be added as a companion.

Companion Tags

Initially, when the companion list was finalized, companion tags were meant to act as a future proof system to include or exclude companions into post-combat sex scenes. Based on the corresponding tag, during a victory sex scene, an Aggressive companion could sex another member of the defeated party, while a Reserved companion would be excluded from most sexual acts in any victory sex scene. This system is largely unused now, as it was easier to write the companion interaction specifically.

Any non-Chaste companion is considered a sexable companion, and thus can be included in most victory and loss sex scenes that include their participation. While rarely used, any non-Chaste & non-Reserved companion is considered a sex hungry companion, and can comment or participate in certain sex-related scenes.

Tag Companions Function
Aggressive
Arona

Brint

Are headstrong characters that will tend to use their cock to satisfy their urges, as well as take charge in those cases, for certain sex scenes.
Chaste
Etheryn

Atugia
[a1]
Atugia-WikiHeadshot.png
Will be excluded in any victory and defeat sex scenes, and will generally shy away or retreat from sexual content that doesn't directly involve them. They are still available for sex with the Champion, but not initially, and in most cases, only the Champion.

Viviane

Similar to Chaste, they are excluded from any victory sex scene, however, they are included in defeat sex scenes. They also tend to shy away from sex that isn't related to them. They are still available for sex with the Champion, and in most cases, only the Champion.
Slutty
Cait
Cait-WikiHeadshot.png
Quintillus
Quintillus-WikiHeadshot.png
Are characters that are eager to engage in sex and will tend to be on the receiving/giving end (e.g. giving oral or riding cocks) of sex scenes to satisfy their desires.

In regards to Atugia, her tag will change based on:

  • [a1] - Chaste
    • If defeat after fighting her as the Runic Knight, or recruitment through Baroness Carmen without having sexed Atugia
  • [a2] - Reserved
    • Having chosen Romance with Atugia, or recruitment through Baroness Carmen with having sexed Atugia
Note that Reserved replaces Chaste

In regards to Viviane, her tag will change based on:

  • [v1] - Reserved
    • By default
  • [v2] - Playful
    • When Viviane is not warned about the Succubus Milk during the events of Be Witched, she becomes a demon
Note that Playful replaces Reserved

however, the sexHungryComps criteria appears to be "doesn't have chaste or reserved" rather than "has slutty, playful, or aggressive"
so in having both slutty and reserved, Quin does not count as a sex hungry companion
but in generic companion mentions that call for a slutty companion, Quin will still trigger

Homurakko (2022)

Since it is a barely used system, its use can be enumerated:

  • Will participate in Fuck Her, Fuck Him, and Ride Him victory sex scenes of the Lupine Scouts (each tag having their own action/comment)
  • Provides a comment in Tetsuya's Vigorouos sex scene (with and without Silly Mode)
  • Provides a few actions when asking Liulfr for Sex at his/her cave
Unique to the Centaur Pack - Rider Leader victory sex scene is the very specific use of the sex hungry tag, it will call upon
  • Either Brint, Arona, and/or Cait (aggressive and has a cock, or slutty)
    • With which party position that character is in, affecting who does what

Followers & Character Items

Followers, or Camp Followers, are characters that can accompany the Champion throughout their adventures, but are mostly interacted with at the Champion's camp. Unlike companions, they offer limited to no combat support and rarely contribute dialogue to content that is not related to them. On the other hand, Character Items are those that travel with the Champion by occupying a slot in their inventory. Their main method of interaction is through the Use function in the Champion's inventory or while at camp. While similar to followers, there is a distinct enough difference to split the two.

Guests & Temporary Party Members

During certain quests and events, characters will temporarily join the Champion's party by occupying the guest slot, and assist them up to a certain point in that story. Sometimes, a companion will be added as a guest if they are not currently present in the Champion's party, or if they were not recruited as a companion yet.
