“ | Throughout the course of Corruption of Champions II, the PC will be able to recruit a variety of characters to help on his or her quest. While many of the people you find in the world can provide services or support for your mission, an elite handful may actually join the PC in the adventure themselves.

—Corruption of Champions II: Public Design Document |
The Champion's party consists of themself, 2 companions, 1 guest, and 1 summon.
Companions
Companions are a core of the party system and are intended to travel and interact with the Champion throughout their adventures. As they travel with the Champion, they are meant to interact with the world, other characters, and with the other companions. In combat, they play a significant role, from healing, to damaging, to tanking, based on what their current companion set is. Regardless of the state the companions are in, if the Champion is defeated in combat, it will result in a combat loss. In normal cases, the Champion can only bring up to two companions at a time.
Only veteran writer were allowed to create companions, as they are a huge undertaking and must be accounted for in most, if not all new and existing content. To prevent significant back tracking for newly addded companions into old content, a submission deadline was set before Khor'minos proper could be entered. It should be noted that the submission for new companions has been closed since version 0.4.20 (November 1, 2021), and any conceptualized companions that were not approved before the deadline, will not be added as a companion.
Companion Tags
Initially, when the companion list was finalized, companion tags were meant to act as a future proof system to include or exclude companions into post-combat sex scenes. Based on the corresponding tag, during a victory sex scene, an Aggressive companion could sex another member of the defeated party, while a Reserved companion would be excluded from most sexual acts in any victory sex scene. This system is largely unused now, as it was easier to write the companion interaction specifically.
Any non-Chaste companion is considered a sexable companion, and thus can be included in most victory and loss sex scenes that include their participation. While rarely used, any non-Chaste & non-Reserved companion is considered a sex hungry companion, and can comment or participate in certain sex-related scenes.
Followers & Character Items
Followers, or Camp Followers, are characters that can accompany the Champion throughout their adventures, but are mostly interacted with at the Champion's camp. Unlike companions, they offer limited to no combat support and rarely contribute dialogue to content that is not related to them. On the other hand, Character Items are those that travel with the Champion by occupying a slot in their inventory. Their main method of interaction is through the Use function in the Champion's inventory or while at camp. While similar to followers, there is a distinct enough difference to split the two.

Guests & Temporary Party Members
During certain quests and events, characters will temporarily join the Champion's party by occupying the guest slot, and assist them up to a certain point in that story. Sometimes, a companion will be added as a guest if they are not currently present in the Champion's party, or if they were not recruited as a companion yet.

Summons
Throughout the Champion's adventures, they will come across special items and powers that will allow them summon a character to aid them in battle. While in some cases, the summoned character is a generic and unnamed elemental or creature, in others, it can be a unique named character. Listed above their names is the item or event that unlocks the power to summon them. Some of them can be interacted with through the Wayfort's Summon Circle, while some are through the special item used to summon them.
