The codex is a section with the Champion's journal that provides them extra information, whether that be gameplay, information on races, factions, or historical locations within the world. The codex is a section with the Champion's journal that provides them extra information, whether that be gameplay, information on races, factions, or historical locations within the world. The codex contains information written, gathered, and compiled from various different sources, and sometimes written by the Champion or their companions. It should be noted that not all races and events will have a codex entry.

Name Unlock Conditions Note
Attributes & Stats Obtained after waking up at The Frost Hound, after the Tutorial (skipped or not). While not directly copied, Stats contains a detailed breakdown into the elements covered in this entry.
Combat Basics At least one condition:
  • Finding Cait's cart during the Tutorial (the first !)
  • Skipping the Tutorial
If the tutorial is skipped, the unlock alert for this entry will be skipped. The Stats page also covers the information listed here.
Leveling Up Unlocked once the Champion earns enough XP to level up for the first time. Similar to Attributes & Stats, the Stats page covers the contents in detail.
